I think it is you who is naive and perhaps a bit brainwashed...quit being a sheep and decide whether you are for freedom or tyranny...then do something about it. Have you the ability to discern that these people have done more to overthrow tyranny than you probably ever will? Rather than allow your fear to overcome you, try respecting people who are truly better than you.

Excuse me, but I have a Master's Degree so don't question my education.

I also worked for a United States Congresswoman both in Congress and also I ran her successful re-election campaign. So I know a bit about politics. I only left working for Congress so I could open up my own store after receiving my Master's Degree.

I have been following this in great detail. The Muslim Brotherhood states they want to destroy Israel, destroy the US and then have a worldwide MUSLIM caliphate. That is on the record!

You neo-cons are the idealists who think that everyone can function under a democracy. The Palestinians got democracy and elected Hamas, the Iranians got democracy and voted for Islamists.

Yes, he was a dictator but he also prevented the radicals in his country from attacking Israel.

The neo-con belief is everyone deserves democracy, some people simply aren't ready for it. When 90% of Egyptian woman have had a violent procedure on their genitals you think people like that are going to function under a democracy?

I would like to see your reply and I would like to have you stand on the record and tell me that the Muslim Brotherhood is good for Egypt.

And I'm pinging one of Free Republic's most attuned political geniuses. He can help educate you.

think you’re talking to an MSNBC viewer, this just shows how doomed we are that we have a couple mainly one though who has no clue about what is going on over there and thinks a free country will prevail

Hmmm, you appear to have issues of low self esteem...I was not questioning your education. But I do question your thinking and philosophy.

In a nutshell...would you prefer to support tyranny rather than risk for liberty? That is really what we are talking about here. Will your fear of the worst overtake your conviction for people, who have the exact same rights you do, to be free?

Those are really all that matters here, nothing else...there are no other issues.

I’m a little late to the party, but I’ll claim membership as a “Neo-Con” (if only because my visceral opposition to blind and naive Paleos). Yes, the ideal is to have every country on earth be some form of Democracy (except for straight Democracy, an often misunderstood term, since that would involve needing no government at all, since every citizen would participate in all decisionmaking functions, which would be far too unwieldly in a country without a population that could fit in a small room). Saying that, to blindly turn over a country to a mob is only substituting for another tyranny (look at the fiasco that occurred when the French monarchy was felled at the end of the 18th century).

I support(ed) Mubarak because of all the current alternatives, his remaining in place was the best, especially where stability was concerned and preventing the rise of another Iran based on a deranged Satanic ideology. Placing a Republican Democracy (my personal preference) can ONLY work if the populace is educated on what it truly means. It doesn’t work in parts of our own country because the residents in given areas don’t understand what it means and only seek to leech off of it and drain it dry. They “choose” individuals who are corrupt and placate their supporters via freebies at the expense of other, more responsible citizens. They also whip up their thuggish supporters against the good to keep them in power by blaming the latter for all that has gone wrong in their fiefdoms. You can also classify that as “Democracy”, too, but that is nothing to emulate.

I’ve been personally sickened by the media coverage of Egypt and it’s leftist slant on the situation, siding with the hordes, mobs and Satanists against a stable regime that holds a tenuous grasp of peace in the region. Either they are willfully stupid or willing useful idiots for the proliferation of evil and the death and destruction sure to follow. I think it’s a bit of both.

In the end, Mubarak’s abdication is no victory for Democracy in the positive sense of the word, but a true victory for the ugly face of evil tyranny that has spread like a cancer in that part of the world using “Democracy” as its veil.
