(CNN) -- Sarah Palin is mixing it up with potential rival Rick Santorum, suggesting the former Pennsylvania senator and presidential hopeful is a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.

I’m honored. And since you have calmed down...you may remain standing.
So. She’s a liar?
Liar? That’s a peculiar response. I agree with Palin. I saw her comments. I believe she’s got lots to do.
And she didn’t say Santorum was a knuckle-dragger. She said she wouldn’t exactly call him a knuckle-dragger.
She hasn’t been to CPAC. And she’s not attending this year, a decision made by other pro-family value Republicans.
I see a connection. Maybe others don’t. The more important question, IMO, is why was Santorum criticizing her in the first place?
I’ll check it out. Thanks.
Santorum was mildly snarky about Palin in an interview. I was disappointed in him, but it wasn’t a big deal. Palin’s response was a bit over the top and, imo, took the bait and made a bit of a fool of herself about it on Hannity last night which is when she made the knuckle-dragging neanderthal comment. Her response was not clever and it was overkill. But in her defense, with all the crap that’s been thrown at her, she shouldn’t have to take anything from other GOPers.
The bottom line is Santorum started it with a few probing taps and Palin finished it with a sledge hammer. That’s our girl, lol!
This just feeds the leftist media. I wish Hannity wouldn’t have asked Palin about it or else that Palin had said something clever and then risen above it. I don’t want to see potential GOP prez candidates at each other’s throats, especially so early in the nominating process. This doesn’t bode well. Shame on Rick Santorum for starting it. I lost some respect for him, not just as a gentleman and a professional, but most importantly in terms of his judgment. Why is it always the right that eats its own on the public stage? The rats protect each other and rarely tear each other down in political public side shows the way the GOP does, and the slimestream media just eats it up.
She did. I saw it on Hannity last night.
She said it on Hannity last night.
....pubs providing the straws.
This whole thing was a mistake by Santorum, Palin and Hannity. Lauer is a lefty so I don’t expect any better from him, but I expect the other three to be a little wiser.
Thanks Deb. That’s a reasonable description of the dynamics we’re likely to soon see play out.
If I were running against her, I would say, “I admire things about Sarah, but I do have some differences of opinion on policy. That’s why I am running this year.”
If I were pressed what differences, I would defer saying, “I’m not going to get into that now. There is enough information out there right now, so that your viewers can take a look at the both of us and come to their own conclusion.”
There’s no reason for this to turn into a melt-down, with our side eating their own.
Keep it truthful and positive, and I think this season can be a great success.
Our candidates can, should, and in fact must agree on one thing. An attack on one by the media, is an attack on all of them.
If a new charge against one is unfounded, they should all condemn the disgusting media climate, and specifically the precise issue they disagree with.
If a feud is reported, both parties should publicly say at once, that the report is fraudulent, nothing of the kind is taking place, and that the public should take a long hard look at the reporter and his parent organization if they are going to lie to the public like that.
Take care Deb.
Certainly not in the way reported in the headline.
I don't care about the Santorum nonsense. Its a total creation of the media. Its just a platform to allow Palin-haters to slither around and take cheap shots.
Ummm....it was a pretty good hit. :)
Just so you know - I got it too ... and for those who question Palin’s abilities or chances who do you have?
Except for Santorum every male pubbie in it already lost to Juan McCain ... I am not counting her out - let her run without beating her into the ground ... please. ;-)
“I don’t care about the Santorum nonsense. Its a total creation of the media. Its just a platform to allow Palin-haters to slither around and take cheap shots.”
Which is why I wish Hannity would have just left it alone. But maybe she asked him ahead of time to set her up with a question on it so she could get her licks in. I dunno.
But I agree it just feeds the slimestream media and I wish it hadn’t happened. It is NOT helpful. I just hope it doesn’t portend what’s to come. As I said upthread, Santorum was wrong to start it and I’ve lost respect for him for doing so. Snarkiness toward other pubs is NOT what I want to see almost two years out from the most important election this country will ever undertake. Santorum showed bad judgment and pettiness. In so doing, he’s out of the running as far as I’m concerned. It’s not that it was a big deal. It wasn’t. But it showed bad judgment, snarkiness and pettiness. Isn’t that part of the problem we have with obastard’s style? As for Palin, she didn’t come out smelling like a rose either. One brief, clever line, delivered softly with her Mona Lisa smile would have served her much better.
Anyway, they need to stop feeding the beast NOW.
See? BS!
All Bull Crap
Nothing But Crap.
Remember, you can't spell crAP without AP.
Roto-Reuters ... making the sewage flow freely since 1850.
He looked sorta ambushed to me and had to say something. I’m sure he won’t make that mistake again. Everyone needs to be ready for “The Sarah Question”.
Sorry, I agree with dinoparty. Palin got hot under the collar and it was completely unnecessary. Santorum was DEFENDING her, for goodness sake. She just shot from the hip when she could easily have laughed this one off.
And to anybody who thinks she was joking, watch the clip. She was p.o.'d.
My take too. And he was clumsy in his defense, I'll grant you that. But this thing should have been laughed off.
Sean pulled a thread he should have left alone in the first place. Shame on him.
Agreed.
