Could it be that George H. W. Bush has actually talked some sense into the Mubarak government — don’t let yourselves get Jimmy Cartered away, most of America (and Israel too) actually has your back against aggressive Islamists.

It happens. Perhaps it was a bad source for Drudge, and he removed it? We’ll find out soon enough I’m sure.

The significance of this story would seem to be that Mubarak still controls his Foreign Ministry, and events of the day show that he still controls, and has the support of, his Interior Ministry and Internal Security apparatus, and some level of support from his Military....

Perhaps the reports of Mubarak having one-foot-in-the-grave might be a bit, ummmmm, premature??

Gibbs says president will take reporter questions on Friday when Canadian PM Harper visits.

So Obama is in hiding until then?

obama and his admin are working and cheerleading Egypt into becoming an islamic regime.

Our biased media are doing his dirty work and not mentioning the real facts plus they are not as quick to say we should not get involved in other countries affairs

So now the policy of America is to promote and help countries become islamic while telling our allies to step aside.

The policy of the media is to lie, deceive , manipulate to cover for their messiah.

” Say, where is the Secretary of State? “

Last I heard, she was in Haiti, rigging their election...

Priorities, ya know.....

Thanks for the info. I imagine he is in hiding, as this all is backfiring for him. It is obvious he injected himself into something when he didn’t know what he was doing.

I read it. I read it slow and with intent to comprehend.

It was very informative. Perhaps it’s because I’m an American and can’t get my mind around the concept of military rule, but a lot of it is still vague. to me.

I followed it through all the events that led to the street riots and I understood.

Came the time to describe Egypt’s recent evolution, I got confused.

Again, the notion of the army ruling boggles my mind. I sure can understand Egypt’s admiration of its army, we also admire our army. But an army ruling the country? I don’t see how this happens, how it would work.

Love how he calls El Bareidi “CNN’s chosen replacement” for Mubarak and appreciate that this former UN weapons inspector is a nobody in Egypt, utterly disdained by the Egyptians. Gotta love our media, heh, THEY’re going to decide who replaces Mubaral and they’ve chosen El Bareidi.

I also am unclear on what a “close economy” is and what a “technocrat” is. Maybe in time and more reading I’ll understand it.

I did not know that Mubarak is, literally, dying, as the writer asserts.

Seems to me that the writer’s conclusion is that nobody really knows where it’ll all end, probably by army rule.

If we had some REAL leadership in Washington, this would be a hell of a chance for America to jump in and help guide this country to a democracy.

But we all know Clinton, Obama, et al, will only work to make it all benefit THEM and their Marxist colleagues.

the pres is spurring our ally to step aside while helping this country become islamic like Iran.

Remember when the left and the corrupt media used to say that America should not get into other countries affairs like Iran but now they’;re quick to help our ally step down and make this a country like Iran.

It’s obvious even to a blind man now that the likes of DI natali on FOX, , CNN, etc are lying and making it out that these anti Govt people are nice while those who fight them are bad.

It’s obvious now that this admin has made policy to help islam spread, even radical islam , to denounce our allies etc.

remember what obama said in his own words on page 261 in his own book

I stand with Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

Barack hussein obama

Now we know why he does not stand with our allies, not go to church , not celebrate Christmas or Easter and would not salue our flag before the election.

Low profile? Ha! His low profile was the support for Mubarak. Now he’s pushing for Mubarak to immediately step down. That isn’t low profile.

He didn’t want to be seen as interfering in Egypt’s internal affairs. As if! At least that’s what he said when withholding support for Mubarak.

Now he’s just fine with interfering in Egypt’s internal affairs, if it means the Muslim Brotherhood gets a firm grip on the situation.

The rule of a military seems weird to Americans, but it’s one possible way that a government under pressure can evolve. It certainly insures there is no shortage of, er, “goons” when needed. Turkey is similar.

Soros and company certainly weren’t involved in taking down the leadership of Iran were they.

There’s the difference.

No support for regime change in Iran. Big support for regime change in Egypt.

The difference couldn’t be more clear.

Add to that the situation in Honduras, where our dear ‘Supreme Leader’ undercut the leader there in favor of a Marxist effort.

This guy is rotten to the very core.
