I have recently been intrigued by the controversy over Obama's SSS registation. While there are a lot of questions, it is the only real document that we have to work with that has been released. I think a lot of the questions could be resolved (or more created) if we could actually compare his released document with some others. For the life of me I cannot find any others on the internet from the same period. I recently wrote the source of Debbies article (link in my comment) with the following;
Stephen;
I recently explored your article shared on Debbie Schlussel's site regarding Obama's Fm 1. It got me to thinking about finding other's who may have applied at the same time and I scoured the internet trying to locate any other SSS Fm 1's for the same period or any period for that matter. I couldn't find any, maybe my search terms were not good for finding any. So, then I thought, well maybe other politicians have theirs, but could not find any of those either. I don't know how to make successful FOIA requests, but apprently you do. What if some requests were made of some others that were born around the same period, and better, applied at the about the same time as Obama, and even better yet applied in Hawaii as he did. I read all the assumptions that are made regarding the rules about how a form should look, but nothing would be better than actually having some to compare against from the same time that were filed. What do you think and how could I help? Don't stop on this as it only confirms the other areas in which his credentials are very suspect.
Thanks!
Me
Then I got to thinking... Why not query my friends at FreeRepublic?!?
Maybe some of you could request your SSS registrations from 1980 and beyond, you know just for research purposes.
Here is the way to request your info...
Records of registrants who were born on or after January 1, 1960
Registration Card: Shows a registrant's name, date of birth, home address, phone number, social security number, and Selective Service registration number.
How to Obtain a Copy: The requester must be the registrant himself, or show written permission from the registrant, or provide proof that the registrant is deceased. A caller may verify that a man is registered and/or obtain a registrant's Selective Service number and the date he registered by calling Selective Service at 847-688-6888 and providing the registrant's social security number and date of birth. The information may also be obtained by writing to:
Selective Service System Data Management Center P.O. Box 94638 Palatine, IL 60094-4638
I have my Registration Acknowledgment Card...that I got in 2001.
I got $20 that says Hussein NEVER registered for the draft.
Mine is from the mid 90’s and I just looked at it.
We all had to register beginning in 1979. No draft, but still registration.
Notice: Do not post anything from Debbie Schlussel com or anything written by her
Earlier today she sent a copyright complaint. Then whined when I put her URL on the no post list. Now she's threatening some kind of legal action if I don't pull all of a certain poster's posts about her "in one hour!" Whiney little green-eyed beotch sure can sling the hash against Sarah and others, but apparently can't take it if someone slings a little back. As far as I know, it's not illegal to criticize members of the press (or of the wannabe political hack class).
I might still have my card somewhere around here - have to look. If memory serves, it was kind of an oversize manila-type card. Otherwise, I’ll request it and let you know.
Yeah, I just looked at mine too.
“I got $20 that says Hussein NEVER registered for the draft.”
I’ll take a piece of that action! Put me down for $50.
Yeah, my card is manila, and on the back of it an American Flag.
Wow. You guys are organized! I registered in ‘81 and I have no idea what happened to my card.
Okay —you are the lucky taker but I only got $20. If you win and he proves he registered, FReepmail me your address. If it is proved he did NOT register then pleasemake a $20 donation to FReerepublic in my name.
Obama has used MULTIPLE social security numbers over the years. The one he used on his SSS registration is different form others he used. Obama is just a con man and the people fell for the con.
I dont’ know what the form looked like, it was too long ago to remember. But the card they gave you looked like a cheap business card only 50% longer and you had to fold it over to fit it in your wallet. The characters(name and such) were typed on with a typewriter. But not ink. They were the transfer kind of ribbon that you could only use once. The paper was white or cream with light to medium green printing on it.
This is from memory.
Interesting. I registered in 1983, I believe. I think I waited until the 30th day (or whatever the limit was) because I was in college and it was some kind of protest against the government so take that!! (and I was kinda lazy and didn’t get around with it until after Christmas.)
Don't know why I still have it, but I do. Mine has a flag on the back. Mine was filed with my old Student Loan papers. I had to prove I registered with the Selective Service as one of the qualifiers to get my student loan in 1981.
Now that I have this thing, what do I do with it, burn it?
I should have the printed form in two weeks. I registered 5 days before Soebarkah.
“...Obama is just a con man and the people fell for the con...”
You’re 100% correct.
The REAL question now is — why did he get involved in a confidence game that could get him executed?
Hey man, I was on your side. Guess I articulated my previous reply incorrectly! No way is he going to prove he registered, short of a forged document. Which, by the way, I can’t believe hasn’t happened with the birth certificate.
Tell you what, I’ll donate 20.00 to FR anyway. Every little bit helps. We gotta keep the lights on as long as we can, before the big shut down (which I predict will come sooner than we think).
