SHEP JUST REPORTED....
?
huh?
Mubarak did not say he is stepping down, but he did say he got a discount on his auto insurance.
Obama has said its time to sit down with a few 40 oncers and rap this one out
This network is becoming a joke.
Hey, fancy meeting you here. How ya been, D1? Doing pretty well, myself!
12:27 am - Mubarak announces he is dismissing the government.
12:24 am - This does not sound like a speech in which Mubarak plans on making major concessions, let alone stand down.
12:21 am - Mubarak: I also similarly adhere to defending Egypt’s stability and not to steer it into any threats that jeopardize public order ... My fellow these citizens, these demonstrations came to express lawful aspirations for more democracy.
12:17 am - President Hosni Mubarak is speaking on television right now. He says police took the initiative to defend protesters at the beginning, respecting their right to make peaceful demonstrations. But then, he says, they put the daily lives of Egyptians at risk.
- Al Jazeera LiveBlog
He said he’s firing and replacing his cabinet [trying to save his ass].
BREAING ON FR.
Red Badger jumped the gun.
Red Badger asked to step down!!!
Yes - its hugh and series. But thems the breaks when you try to be the 1st in with “breaing” news.
Actually, more than free and fair elections (a democracy), people need to make sure their inalienable rights are protected (a republic).
I'm not saying Mubarak ran such a republic (at all), but I greatly fear what an islamic-heavy electorate would vote in.
For the actual areas of progress that Iraq has made, how are Christians doing there? (Yes, I know, Saddam was brutal to them - but now they flee.)
Al Gore.
Exactly. If he goes the Muslim Brotherhood will take charge and we’re screwed. Can you say Suez Canal?
Is it wrong to prefer a military dictatorship, to an Islamic government? I’m conflicted here.
Call Ayers, Dorhn and CODE PINK and the Moslem Brotherhood
to congratulate them on our success.
“This should do wonders for the crude oil market. Expect $4 gas in Feb.”
You optimism is refreshing
No this week the ‘Baraks are steppin down not up...
:)
“Geez, would 3 days of protests here free us from Obama?? “
How “vigorous” would the protests be?
Well, you blew it, FRiend... going off half cocked with a major breaking news that turned out to be FALSE.
Do you know what that means?
It means you’re gonna be RICH!!! Don’t fail to answer your phone this evening! It’s probably one of the major networks recruiting you! Talent like *that* is in *major* demand in the high-paying MSM!
:-)
I won’t shed any tears over Saddam, but I always had the nagging feeling that removing Saddam was the biggest favor we could have done for Iran. Say what you will, but Saddam was a buffer against the Iranians. With him out of the picture, who will stand in their way?
In fact, it's probably going to make them even angrier, since it's just another demonstration of a dictator acting like a dictator.
