From FOX:
DEVELOPING: Loud explosions and gunfire were heard in the Egyptian capital of Cairo Friday, as protesters demanding the removal of President Hosni Mubarak defied a curfew, Al Jazeera reported. Egyptian television reports the ruling party headquarters in Cairo are on fire.
From TWITTER:
WashingtonPost: Clinton: We urge #Egypt authorities to allow peaceful protest, reverse unprecedented steps it has taken to cut off communications less than 20 seconds ago
Anger is not such a bad thing. FR can be a pretty angry place. Depends on the target I suppose.
Did he include himself?
according to reports apparently Obama is definitely MIA...Hillary is talking to her counterpart the foreign secretary but Obama it seems is hiding in the closet.
I just heard on CNN radio they are protesting around America? Anyone else hear that?
I am no expert, but there would be those who would try to use the weather, this thing, our debt, Davos, the Piven/Van Jones call to violence, the Mexican border issue, to an advantage, and I don’t want folks being caught flat-footed because we’re watching the other hand.
I’m no expert, but I can research the bejeezus out of things. This area (the ME) was my field for a long......time. Let’s not go there.
So, I keep pushing folks to look at links and read for themselves. DC will not be forthcoming with the truth, and the attack dogs of the news here in the US will do everything to state the Partei line.
Look, it’s your perspective that a terrorist organization in a position of power that does Syria’s bidding is a sign of regional improvement. That actually astounds me.
I understand your logic trail, but for me there are so many breakdowns in it that I cannot adopt it as my own.
If your vision were to come to pass, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, and Tunisia would be led to Hezbollah fellow travelers.
No, that’s not a transition to enlightenment. It’s a transition to hell.
Thanks for the comments.

So much to keep up with on this thread that trying to track down every little detail is pushing my multitasking to the limit.
Jokes aside, what do those people exepct the WH to do?
Hopefully it is aware people, who represent the western world and are westerners, getting the heck out.

I suspect it was something the adults did to give the kids some reassurance that all was not hopeless. Psychologically, it was probably a sound move.
Then you have smart ass second graders who go and blow the whole thing on kids who still there is a Santa Claus too. ;^)
Take care...
At the very least 0bama should have telephoned Mubarak early in the action. He did not. That is an irresponsible action to say the least.
Unfortunately there’s an enormous contingent of the American public that is completely snowed by the MSM. They pump this government and leadership as benevolent and righteous, but those of us who espouse the promise of self-governance and true Jeffersonian Republicanism are not fooled.
Mubarak and his government made the mistake of shutting down non-violent communications such as social networks thus launching the nominally peaceful revolutionaries into the streets in protest. So long as America keeps their precious Internet and cable television, the American revolution and march of Socialism will continue unabated.
I’ve got 2 weeks of supplies, batteries, fuel, ammo, and several functional shortwave radios. I implore FReepers to get educated in HAM radio and non-Internet communication methods. When Obama shuts down the Internet and cellular phone carriers, a majority of Americans will sit like beached whales wondering what to do. Those of us with the means to communicate and coordinate will be the safest. Be prepared.
Ya, they all seem to have pit bull attitudes...I watched a A-rab cab driver do the big chicken over a tip, and try to hold the passengers luggage hostage...What a site.
Thanks to the U.S. Government, we now have tens of thousands of A-rab taxi cabs circling all of our major airports....All this while Americans are sniffed, scanned, x-rayed, while having their testicles twisted and groped inside the terminal...
Someone posted a picture on another thread of protests right outside the White House. It was creepy seeing Egyptian flags in front of the WH with the snowy backdrop.
Looking for more billing records, perhaps.
More like "Put your head between your legs and kiss your a$$ goodbye."
WH isn’t doing crap! Obama is sequestered in his little round room with advisers asking him to make decisions, possibly military decisions, and I guaran-damn-tee you that he’s not going to make those decisions.
This could be catastrophic for confidence in America around the world, and to be honest, I think that’s his plan. I wasn’t alive during the Carter administration, but I guarantee this administration is going to muck up the works 100 times worse than Carter ever did.
