Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

A pic of his book - the 29th morning arrival still puzzles me. Did no one see him on the train, does Amtrak have no security video? (I'm sure they do) Definitely leaves Jack out of the smoke bomb event. - BUT, then how did his phone get over there?

Thoughts for the morning:
If strangled, Did he still have the ligature on him? They would know it was a murder immediately but there would be no blood.
Would a poison make his eyes red? Was the floor boards removed to test for the poison? Something thrown in his eyes?
He was wearing loafers. Do you see any signs of his foot prints in the kitchen pictures?
Maybe floors are 18 but code for walls around here are 16. Turned my burn into a home by myself so I’ve got a bit of experience in that area. However it’s an older home, like my barn things may not have been done to current code.
Just a thought: Are some of those “crime scene” references referring to the “murder scene”?
EX: If kidnapped from his home or street the murder scene would not be the same as the kidnap scene. But both would be crime scenes.
Is the officer saying they have not found the murder scene? (which could have been the vehicle he was taken to the dumpster in.)

No doubt most Americans have heard by now that John Wheeler III (affiliated with The MITRE Corporation since 2009, and lately focused on establishing cyber warfare and joint warfare capability) was found murdered on New Year’s Eve, although the Newark PD didn’t release that information until several days after his body was discovered.
Wheeler’s body was discovered as a garbage truck emptied its contents at the Cherry Island landfill, near Wilmington, DE., not far from Wheeler’s home in the Old New Castle neighborhood of Newark, NJ.
It was an inglorious and indecent end for the great patriot that Wheeler truly was.

Therefore, Congressman Thompson, for all these reasons, I ask you, as member of the House Intelligence Committee, and as chair of its Subcommittee on Terrorism, HUMINT, Analysis, and Counterintelligence, and also as a Vietnam vet yourself, to formally honor the memory of John Wheeler by introducing a resolution on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Yes. He might have taken wrong bus, an early hypothesis that I haven't yet eliminated. IIRC, the bus to Newark was Route 6, but I haven't checked overlap or anything. Plus, he might have intentionally gone to Newark for some reason.
Note...that law firm visit might have had nothing to do with IP or whatever. Remember that Jack Wheeler was a lawyer. This might have been a visit to a professional colleague to ask for train fare.

That smoke bomb incident took place the late evening of the 28th.
If this cabbie’s notes are accurate, then he arrived on the morning of the 29th at the Amtrak station. Not 100% positive this was the exact sequence of events, or what we’re being led to believe.
SOmebomb happen late on the 28th. Jack didn’t arrive from DC until early on the 29th. Police have changed their story from he’s wanted for questioning about the act to he may have information about.
is that a smear mark above the area you were talking about and the boot prints? Darker, goes from fouth, fifth board FROM THE TOP.
There are several possibilities.
He might have not taken the train on the 28th. Amtrak should be able to confirm.
He might have taken the train on the 28th and headed to New Castle. Then on 29th, gone back to Wilmington and gotten the cab in the morning. Remember, nothing has to "make sense" if he was not thinking clearly.
He might have taken the train on the 29th and the cabbie was wrong on the day, despite the book (did he mix up two fares and think the one in the book from the 28th was Jack Wheeler, when it was actually someone else?)
Etc.
Just keeping my mind open is all.
Yes looks like something was pulled across there for a bit anyways - plus so much smudging - not sure if that occurred with printing of floor by police or was there before? If it was there before, then it looks like a struggle perhaps.
I keep going back to his red eyes as described by the parking attendant which when I look up reasons for that included stroke or head trauma.
We don’t know for sure, but the fact that Biden/FBI put a gag order on it days after the information was released IMO is a sign they found something criminal there. Plus bootprints, removed floor boards(By LEO)and “Other” evidence was listed initially.
What ever was on/in the floor boards they removed was in plain sight and caused them to pause , not walk on all the floor (contaminate it) and dust it for foot prints....
Also it seems that they took the section in one piece not a board at a time.
