Yes looks like something was pulled across there for a bit anyways - plus so much smudging - not sure if that occurred with printing of floor by police or was there before? If it was there before, then it looks like a struggle perhaps.
I keep going back to his red eyes as described by the parking attendant which when I look up reasons for that included stroke or head trauma.
What ever was on/in the floor boards they removed was in plain sight and caused them to pause , not walk on all the floor (contaminate it) and dust it for foot prints....
Also it seems that they took the section in one piece not a board at a time.
My solution was a rug...
Now, if there was a workman in there while John was away and that makes sense because of the music/tv, I'll bet John said "Don't worry about the floor...we're going to have to replace it anyways."
Now if there were tracks all over the house, it would be a different story.
I'm almost thinking that this area we are seeing was treated more like a mud room than a formal kitchen. These old houses were set up weird.
It has been reported his limping gait was not new. We don't know what happened between 6 and 6:40; it is quite possible he walked a fair amount of distance in shoes not made for walking. Sore foot? Blister? Circulatory problems? It is quite possible he was carrying his left shoe for a very valid reason.
I have watched the raw AP video several times. How anyone could mistake him for a homeless man is beyond me.
