Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

One would think she would answer Dill’s message....BECAUSE...Jack was not responding to her messages.

But wifie stayed at the wedding and didn't come home for two days.
Have to go back to the beginning....Wife put a hit out on Jack...
Spence is quoted in this article saying that Jack had no "no briefcase"...which is it Spence"

At about 11:30 that evening, said Morris, who lives in the home between the Dills and Wheeler, he was watching television when he heard what he described as a "loud thud" from across the street. Morris, a 44-year-old bachelor who moved into the home last fall, assumed rowdy kids were throwing things at the Marini house. He looked outside and could see a glow from the home, which was framed with plywood walls but had unfinished windows. "I could see the glow intensify and I didn't know whether it was kids or some homeless person cooking a fire to keep warm," Morris said. Morris went to another window for a better look and "saw this guy with a large-framed build," wearing a hat, a gray sweatshirt and dark pants. "The guy was lobbing, like pitching a softball, a ball of fire and it was just a trail. I saw him throw two in there. The inside was on fire. I turned the light on and he calmly turned around and walked across the park."
Jack Was Being Set Up
To: smoothsailing
I agree he was set up.....And the only person it comes back to is the wife...Nothing would surprise me.
If it was a govt hit...he would have been dead the first attack.
Jack left us a lot of clues...He was angry...and I'm sure it was wifie who p***** him off.
So she gets a call from Dill about the condition of the house...BUT says "Scr** you Jack...I'm going to the wedding without you".
Doesn't make any sense at all.....
To: smoothsailing
Like all of us...Jack couldn't be in two places at the same time. Either he was in DC on the evening of the 28th or he wasn't.
AND, why does everyone assume the phone was left there on the 28th during the smoke bomb adventure. It could have been there a week...two weeks....a month...We know little about the found phone.

It's the avoidance...Didn't want to be home in Delaware or in NYC with wifie.
Sorry....She's got a boyfriend...
Klyce is to Tennesee as Rockefeller is to NY.

Who would wife get to kill her husband? I just don’t believe she did it. She is a bit of a bitch and I don’t see much love for her husband but I just don’t know. I’m so confused!

Thanks for the pings and the info, everyone.
Radell has been busy this morning:
John P. Wheeler III: Is justice blind?
Murder victims like John P. Wheeler III, who leave this earth in the most violent ways, deserve justice in this life as well as the next. I know they'll get it later, but is justice blind in the here and now for victims like this ex-Pentagon official and Vietnam vet who stepped out on a precipice -- and took on the world -- to build a memorial to the most hated military men in the history of America?
Will John Wheeler's killer get away with snuffing out his life in a senseless act that borders on treason and all things American? The killer of another military man, my brother, didn't get away with murder and neither should John Wheeler's killer.
John P. Wheeler III: Profiling the case from the beginning - the facts to date
If you have been following the John P. Wheeler III murder investigation news, you already know how complicated it is to keep all the facts about the case straight--and the family, friend, business associates, neighbors and witness comments as well.
To aid in that effort, and to assist those attempting to create their own working profile of the case, this article and criminal profiles column links are broken down into pertinent sections about the case as of February 22, 2011, with links to each article listed as the section heading.
John P. Wheeler III neigbors talking: More case details available, but why?
John Wheeler's neighbors are opening up and discussing the John P. Wheeler murder case with media today and they are telling aspects of the investigation that have been held very closely to the vest thus far by Newark Police Department. USA Today reported details from the neighbor who, along with his wife, alleged that they -- Robert and Phyllis Dill, drove John Wheeler to the train station in Wilmington on Christmas Eve.
That information was previously shared in news accounts in early January, but the information they are sharing now details the finding of a ransacked Wheeler home when Robert Dill went in to "check on things" after observing a window open in the upstairs area from outside the house.
A good synopsis of the case details to date, especially that second one.
Cheers.

Klyce has enough connections to make it happen....especially with her foreign business.
Bitch + no love = boyfriend.
Maybe the hit came through her boyfriend...that would be the way to do it...and where her company is...probably lotsa scum available...and I'll bet the boyfriend has "elite" background just like her.
So, it's ordinary thugs or a hit via herself or connections. Not pros...just very bad dudes.
By the way...Let's see Jack's will.

I wonder if he fought someone/them off with the sword - also could throw Comet in eyes of attacker - or was it him that had the Comet thrown at him resulting in the bloodshot eyes?

Just my personal opinion, but I think you should lay off Jack’s wife unless you have proof of something untoward that points to her.

As old as I am (not that old, 50-something) I will aways remember one thing from High School Science:
“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
We might be watching science in action. Otherwise known as ‘Cat and Mouse’ or NPD v Spouse
Regardless of what is said, it appears the spouse is NOT cooperating in a way that would aid the investigation. How could she..it is all about how rude the cops are.

...had the Comet thrown at him resulting in the bloodshot eyes? That's interesting!!!
To: WestCoastGal
I’m thinking the possibility that an animal got into the house. My bro had bats and he used every weapon available.
