Republicans poised to take power in Congress are planning a rapid attack against a climate change initiative the Obama administration wants to launch on January 2, according to members of the Senate and House of Representatives.

Their resolve could harden further after President Barack Obama's Environmental Protection Agency announces a second layer of regulation, possibly as early as Thursday, ratcheting up Washington's fight against global warming.

"I think we ought to start with a two-year pause" in upcoming U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, said Representative Mike Simpson, the Republican who is expected to head a House panel that controls EPA's budget.

Let's hope the 'pubs go further than this next year; how about disolving the EPA?

The EPA and the FCC are two places to start for 100% un-earmarks

"Actually business prefers federal regulation to state and local because it reduces the regulatory burden."

Please allow me to make a slight adjustment to your thought on that. They like it because it allows one-stop lobbying, rather than lobbying "57 states," or 58 counties like in CA!!!

That would certainly be the thrill of a lifetime due to his destructive mal-administration tearing apart the last vestiges of the private sector and private property rights that were granted by God, not a government!!!

Merry Christmas yerself you ol Michigander! (grin)

Don’t forget to include the the abolishment of the FCC which two days ago began to regulate the Internet and sensor content.

began to regulate the Internet and sensor content.

First, how do they get access to the output of sensors much less the ability to regulate that output?

But many even here say there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. Amazing.

I don't say there's NO difference.

In fact, in some cases, the differences are medium-sized.

However, in the critical-to-saving-the-nation issues, the differences are either tiny or non-existent.

Your example of the EPA is a good one.

The Environmental Protection Acts of 1971 were, and are, unconstitutional. The People of the United States delegated "all legislative powers herein granted" to a Congress, and We defined the process for making laws.

We did NOT authorize Congress to delegate any fraction of legislative power (we gave them ALL such powers) to any other entity.

The EPA was created by executive order of a Republican President, and the enabling legislation had overwhelming GOP support.

Ay Republican in Congress who does not favor repeal of all legislation pretending to confer any powers whatsoever on the EPA might as well be a Democrat.

ask ANY "constitutional scholar" and they will knee jerk answer "articleII, section 8", just like they did with the obamacare bill

technically, by stretching the interstate commerce clause, obama can regulate when you can go to the pottie or how much make up you wear or what color car you can drive

The biggest problem with the EPA are rules that are not based on reasonable science.

Deny funding to the EPA parasites
Congress can do this
This means denying funding to a vast Democrat bureaucracy
It is one of our only weapons left

The permanent Federal bureaucracy is overwhelming liberal so we have to starve this beast. They hate America. They hate the productive private sector that pays the taxes that pay their bloated salaries. Give them a jolt by defunding these people who are making war on us

Spot on! The House can do this.

In the event they cannot fully de-fund an agency they can stipulate limitations on funding, that that money NOT be used for specific projects or actions--and can criminalize that misuse as well.

Agreed, the FCC should be on the bureaucracy abolishment list.

The real target of the FCC is to ban all conservative geared websites on the Internet, as well as all AM radio conservative talk-masters. The only option remaining would be shortwave radio broadcasts (maybe) and ham radio if these commies are allowed to enact their leftist totalitarianism.
