Republicans poised to take power in Congress are planning a rapid attack against a climate change initiative the Obama administration wants to launch on January 2, according to members of the Senate and House of Representatives.

Their resolve could harden further after President Barack Obama's Environmental Protection Agency announces a second layer of regulation, possibly as early as Thursday, ratcheting up Washington's fight against global warming.

"I think we ought to start with a two-year pause" in upcoming U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, said Representative Mike Simpson, the Republican who is expected to head a House panel that controls EPA's budget.

Let's hope the 'pubs go further than this next year; how about disolving the EPA?

Really? I think we ought to start by eliminating the entire Agency.

Overturn Wickard v Filburn. That should de-authorize them (and a whole bunch more).

Thank God for the Republicans.

I hope Republicans do stop or better abolish the EPA and FCC as they said they would stop them.

Republicans even with very little numbers stopped the Dream act.

In the new Congress , with more Republicans in the House hopefully the GOP will stop the EPA and FCC.

But many even here say there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. Amazing.

“Plot death...” Funny how the LSM always finds just the right terms to describe what the GOP plans to do. We never hear of Democrats “plotting” “death” of anything.

A two year pause hell. Start with a 20 year rollback and keep going.

How about this:

Dear Rep/Sen _______________, it has become increasingly obvious that the president intends to use the power of the MANY agencies to bypass the will of the people and Congress. For that reason, it is imperative for Congress to reclaim the power it has abdicated to the executive branch. I propose a simple amendment that be put in EVERY bill voted on by Congress until it passes. The wording is as follows:

“No government agency, organization, or entity created by Congress in the past or future shall have legislative or judicial powers. For the purpose of this amendment, “legislative power” shall be construed to mean the making of any rule violation of which renders a citizen of any state or the United States to imprisonment, fine, or other punishment. “Judicial power” shall be construed to mean, the holding of any evidentiary hearing not presided over by an Article III court or the issuance of findings which result in imprisonment, fine, or punishment of a citizen of any state or the United States.

Under this law, all current rules implemented by any government agency, organization, or entity created by Congress that has legislative or judiciary powers as defined above will become null and void five years from the date of passage unless approved by normal constitutional means.”

Please consider this carefully.

I just love hearing “death” and “EPA” together in the same sentence.

Now don’t just plot Repubs, bring the Axe down on their neck.

They just don’t seem to understand that Obama’s fascistic pals seek nothing less than total power.

When dealing with fascists you can’t just nudge back. You’ve got to take them down and crush them and make them fear showing their faces.

Ohhhh, you mean going back to the original intent of the Constitution?; it would be nice!

Thanks, excellent and succinct!

They’ve left a trail of damning comments.

Andy Stern “If we can’t use the power of persuasion, we’ll use the persuasion of power”

Van Jones has made multiple comments about crushing capitalism under the weight of regulations.

Come on, man. Don't wuss out now that you are up to bat.

"I think we're going to have a very amiable and frankly enjoyable time addressing these things," said a confident Republican Senator James Inhofe, a leading critic of steps to address global warming, which he has dismissed as a hoax.

I doubt if it will be amiable, but I think I would enjoy it if I were in his shoes.

There are so many things the GOP needs to do in Congress next session, it’s hard to know where to start. However, for me, the top 2 are defunding Obamacare and defunding all these new EPA regulations. There is no such thing as global warming. Carbon is not a pollutant.

I have grave doubts about how hard the GOP will work on this. I didn’t like the appointment of Fred Upton to a committee chair. This is the guy who thinks the government has the right to tell me what type of light bulb to use. Ultimately, it will be up to us. If we keep the heat on our guys, we might get what we want. It’s going to have to be a consistent, unrelenting heat, though. If our guys think for one minute we don’t care, it’ll be business-as-usual statism again.
