With reports predicting brutally-cold weather to envelop much of the U.S. in the coming weeks, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations could make it harder for Americans to stay warm. According to the National Center for Public Policy, the EPAs regulatory war on greenhouse gas emissions will drastically increase costs for the majority of Americans who get their heat generated from coal.
Coal happens to be the chief emitter of carbon dioxide and other pollutants, making it the EPAs public enemy number one. And in absence of a comprehensive energy bill, the agencys strategy has instead been to regulate and cap its use, which is bad news for the countrys coldest regions. According to a press release from the National Center for Public Policy, the Congressional Research Service this year has already predicted that the average American household will spend $986 just for heat this winter. As far south as Atlanta, Georgia, hundreds have already waited in line for government assistance programs to help pay their energy bills.
With millions of Americans unemployed and struggling to keep their homes warm, the need for government assistance will only increase, said Deneen Borelli of the National Center for Public Policys Project21. Heavy demand and higher prices due to the Obama Administrations assault on the fossil fuels we rely upon are going to stretch charities to their limits and beyond, she said in a press release.

Again, something sneaking around through the authorities Congress has given away in previous legislation. All able to be handled through activist courts and under the radar.
It looks like some of the MSM are finally picking up on what is about to slam American families in the bitter cold of winter.
Merry Christmas Tiny Tim America.
Abolish it YESTERDAY !
What was it BO said about the coal industry? Oh yeah, he was gonna bankrupt them.
Part of me relishes the thought of West Virginians who voted democrat freezing in the dark by next winter, as their men mine coal that will be shipped to China
I wonder how long the global warming crowd will continue to believe that the planet is really warming up because of us, even though we get record-breaking cold year after year after year.
I live in an area (rural WV) where coal and wood are used in many cases as the primary source of heat for many homes. This continued out of control EPA regulation will have a significant impact on all of us.

Did anybody really realize this was happening on Jan. 2, 2011?

“effin’ EPA”
Effing Is what the ‘E’ stands for? Wow. ;> It’s odd that this word is not used more. /s
Effing cold today.
Here in Michigan a company spent several years and millions of dollars on permit applications and studies etc in hopes of building a clean coal fired plant.
Then last year the state denied the permit citing a lack of demand. Less than one month later they gave a permit for a wind farm despite the so called lack of demand.
The EPA and greentards intend to harass and break the energy producers.
And of course the UMWA supported Obama. Just absolutely boggles the mind.
How To Stay Warm tip from the UK: Old folks who can’t afford to heat their homes are spending the day riding the city bus to stay warm.
Just trying to help. :{
So when millions of households install wood stoves, cut down
acres of trees for wood, this will be better. These people are freaking morons
If the Republicans can’t or are unwilling to help us rein in this kind of crap, it’s about time we start looking at other options!
The main thrust of the EPA should be to guarantee clean air and clear water as much as possible for the US.
But in doing so should also not overstep its authority which is to say intrude unnecessarily into the business community and endanger the US economy through overregulation.
A balance must be maintained and the far left enviromental nutjob commies should not be in a position to dictate such extreme radical regulation.
For giving the whores on Capitol Hill more of our money to buy themselves votes. There is no requirement to spend the extra money on anything in particular, as far as I know.
