Well there's a lot of speculation that her death was 'hastened.'
“Wow, that happened a lot faster than I thought it would.”
That was my thought, too. I knew someone who had Stage 4 cancer, it was in his liver when it was discovered. They still kept him on chemo for a long time, and he lived more than four years. So when the story said it was in her liver and they recommended no further treatment, I didn’t quite understand. But as I’ve always heard, every case is different. Still, from the way the situation was described, I just didn’t think it would take her so fast.
May she rest in peace. Prayers of comfort and strength for her children - they are way too young to lose their mother... (10 and 12 y.o. IIRC).
Is this really the time or place for speculation about something you could never prove?
May she rest in peace. My prayers for her family.
“she was a partisan political wife if there ever was one.”
I have a hard time with those who keep saying things like this - “she was a partisan political wife.” Well, we don’t approve of the politics involved, but isn’t supporting her husband in his pursuits no matter what the cost the ultimate love of a wife? (Or what conservatives say they support) 180 degrees from what that jerk did to her, and what he deserved, but it is what she gave. It’s so sad she went to such lengths to please him, and he couldn’t give her a thing in return.
I want to smack that smirk off his face!
“My Husband was diagnosed last Friday. We are still in a fog. And we are scared.”
I am so sorry to hear that and wish the best for you. From the first day it hits, you just never know, it has so many incarnations, so many ways it can go. I hope you will keep us informed of his progress. And I do mean progress!
I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s diagnosis. I have added you and he to my prayers.
Please know that there are a LOT of prayer warriors here at FR. Brad’s Gramma (who I’ve pinged to this post) has one HUGE list of some of the most wonderful prayer warriors... If you don’t have a thread started for a prayer request already, please let me know - I’d be happy to help you get one started. I know that it’s been a huge blessing for many FReepers to be able to update everyone at once via a thread - and also to be able to read through the prayers whenever you need a little “lift”.
God bless you & your husband, SW.
Sorry it went like it did. I pray you've found real peace; that your future is better than your past.
Today, this one's for you:
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward Ive climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds,
And done a hundred things you have not dreamed of
Wheeled and soared and swung...
High in the sunlit silence -- hovring there,
Ive chased the shouting wind along,
And flung my eager craft through footless falls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
Ive topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor e're eagle flew
And, while with silent lifting mind Ive trod
The high, untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

May God comfort your children, and grace them with the gift of salvation, that you may be rejoined to them in eternity.
May God bestow His severe mercy upon John, and grant to him the gift of true repentance, which leads to eternal life.
Politics aside, a very sweet lady. RIP :(
May she rest in peace with the Lord. She was a tragic figure....so misguided in almost every aspect of her too short life.
Prayers for her family and friends.
I’m so sorry.
I see he’s submariner....those guys are tough!
No.
I think sometimes when the person knows that the doctors have done all they can, and they have made their peace with their family - then they can let go.
May her Memory be Eternal! Vjecnaja pamjat!
It’s great that all of the posts on this topic are very supportive of a woman who I’m sure none of us agreed with very often. Of course, we all know what they would be saying on the lib blogs if it had been Laura Bush.
This is a sad story. I feel sorry for her and angry at him.
Rest In Peace Elizabeth.
I lost my mom 3 years ago Dec 3, to Pancreatic Cancer. It ruined Thanksgiving and Christmas for my entire family. Hopefully in time we will get past it, but Christmas time is the worst.
God watch over those poor children. I hope her older daughter gets custody of them. They don’t deserve the father they have. God Bless them all.
