Sarah Palin never claimed she could see Russia from her house that was Tina Fey but she went one better on Glenn Beck's radio show in discussing the tensions in the Korean Peninsula and saying: "We've got to stand with our North Korean allies".
A transcript of the radio show reads:
Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?
Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies we're bound to by treaty....
Interviewer: South Korean.
Palin: Yes, and we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

“Big difference between a slip of the tongue (north/south), and stating that Poland was a totally free country imo.”
Depends on the person...if it were Reagan confusing the Koreas, no prob., he was old and EVERYONE had no doubt as to what he thought of the Communists. Others don’t have as much room. It’s not us that will change our vote in Nov. 2012, it’s the people not on this site...that’s who I worry about.
We’ll see if DeMint (or someone equivalent...of which there are few) steps up - and then see if they slip up. If they do, then yea, it becomes a non-discriminator. But if DeMint can keep things straight, he’ll be MUCH TOUGHER to beat than someone (anyone) who slips up once in a while. Like I say, we’re talking Republicans here, we have VERY LITTLE room to slip up (particularly compared to Democrats)...maybe we would like it to be different, but it is not.
I think all of you that bash Palin and other Republicans UNFAIRLY , using liberal media talking points, are democrats.
I actually guessed that was the case, but my answer’s the same.
They are all liberals/socialists/democrats. They don’t fool me.
To those of you using this slip of the tongue to trash Palin...well F-U too!
This lady has been trashed like nobody else, and she’s still standing! She loves her country! She gets out there and defends our Constitution and country against these tyrants, and all some of you losers can do is sit behind your computer and trash her! If you can do better, why don’t you run for office and have your family trashed day and night!
The fact is, all of you wussies trashing Palin would have caved under the pressure long ago! What’s even more pathetic, is that you accept the Dems premise about Palin. This makes you tools for the Left!
It was a simple slip of the tongue for freakin’ hypocrits! This is a non-issue, and you people who are using it as an excuse to trash Palin know it! What a bunch of gutless pu$$ies!
Thanks. I had not followed the story. I do, however, suspect that the difference will be that the Obama flub went away. Do you think Sarah’s will?
Point taken.
Cannot argue that point...and we’re still well over year before having to choose a candidate.

Sarah Palin didn't.
No honest conservative would expend so much time and effort attacking Sarah Palin on this website, if they weren't compelled to do so by some hidden agenda or influence.
True. They pounce on a simple slip of the tongue yet somehow aren't there for all the times she stands up for truly conservative principles.
William Tell with bad eyesight?
Excuse me but that made me laugh a bit.
How hard is that? I knew about N and S Korea in first grade.
True, but we all know that the game is already on - hence, all of these heated threads on the topic.
The field is literally rumbling with the maneuvers of the opposing camps.
I know which party that I will vote for in November (unless we run McCain again, or Huckabee). The numskulls that you mention are the same group of people that got taken by Obama - and they will be taken again if given an opening. Unfortunately, they determine the results of our elections...not the numskulls on this site.
No one puts up this much of a fight over a simple verbal gaffe (which every single one of us has done at one time or another).
No honest conservative would expend so much time and effort attacking Sarah Palin on this website, if they weren't compelled to do so by some hidden agenda or influence.
That you are being compelled to do so, is without question. Only the agenda, or the influence which is driving you, are in question.
Mark my words. A purge is coming. There are far too many of you operatives working overtime to bring down Sarah Palin on this site to be tolerated much longer.
Work fast! Time is short!
From your keyboard to Jim's ears! Next time, I just might ping him.
This one is a full-blown anti-Palin troll. Operative is probably the right word. This one never misses a thread.
Sheila Jackson Lee would be laughed off of the stage as a presidential candidate. Comparing her to Palin isn’t exactly an endorsement for Palin.
Like Barack Obama’s Muslim faith...that Stephy helped ctach.
Hear! Hear! and BTTT!
The Palin-hating trolls are out in force on this Thanksgiving Eve.
