Hattie Louise James was sitting on her front porch in Charlotte, N.C., when two police detectives emerged from their car. There had been a shooting, they said. Two officers were dead. The gun had been traced back to her.
"I liked to had another heart attack," said James, 72, a retired hospital worker.
The .32-caliber revolver used to kill Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton in April 2007 started out as a legally owned weapon. James bought it in 1991 at Hyatt Coin and Gun Shop in Charlotte, but it was stolen a year later from her husband's car.
Fifteen years after that, it passed into the hands of 25-year- old Demeatrius Montgomery.
Last September, Montgomery was convicted of

More people have died as a result of ‘accidents’ involving SUV’s than with guns.
GM is a criminal enterprise.
You make an excellent point. I has not condidered that.
“killed by Criminals”
Except some were killed by the “friendly fire” of other cops. Cops tend to start shooting and forget where the Hell they are at.
Let’s add another headline, “2,500 friendly dogs shot by cops since 2000.” I don’t really know how many family dogs were shot by cops, so I just picked a number. There have been more than we can count, though.
Very good point! Probably the best point.
Does the report include the deaths of officers killed by their own weapons? of other officers’ weapons?
It’s disingenious to lump all fatal incidents involving firearms into a catagory headlined by one incident of a stolen gun used to kill police.
Did they include suicides?
“...How many were killed by illegal immigrants?”
Oh you mean “undocumented workers”. The Washington Post protects those. Poor poor Chandra Levy.
Well, you have a point if you're talking semi-auto AK's like JG Sales sells a ton of at $400. But there are transferable select-fire AK's (with auto sear) that would require a tax stamp. I think this guy is talking about Class III (full auto) AKs.
I'd like to give him the credit of thinking that too, but the article made no mention of select-fire AKs. The only mention was the cute little cutout of the Rifles category with the "AK-47" caption.

Perhaps they are [unintentionally] being honest as they subconsciously realize that *MOST* police ARE criminals:
US Code, TITLE 18, PART I, CHAPTER 13, § 241 — § 241. Conspiracy against rights
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or
If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured
They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
Consider the $th Amendment, which says:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers,
and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause,
supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the
place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Pay attention to the portion after “No Warrants shall issue [...]”; it is the WARRANT that is supposed to be supported by oath or affirmation [of the “probable cause”] while the “probable cause” justification used by the police is used precisely to circumvent the requirement of a warrant. FURTHERMORE, a arrest based on some unconstitutional search/seizure is a false-arrest; and what is “kidnapping” other than the forcible and illegal taking of a person against their will? THEREFORE, *most* police are ELIGIBLE FOR THE DEATH PENALTY.
Do they break down the murders of these perps by race?
Just askin’
Now, let’s compare this figure to the number who died in auto accidents, especially due to drunk drivers.
I don’t have the numbers, but I bet it’s MUCH higher than 511 in 10 years.
52 weeks in a year. 10 years. 520 weeks. 511 police officers killed by firearms over that 10 years.
Less than one a week over all of America?
Sounds like a rather rare event then.
Much better than a nation where the police are armed, civilians are disarmed, and criminals are armed; yet that is the liberal fantasy of how things should be.
Yeah, “accidents,” like forgetting to clear the firearm before cleaning and lubricating it.
There were so many accidental Glock discharges (while clearing the weapon) in a local police department that the chief made officers store their gun belts loaded.
How many unarmed civilians killed by criminals since 2000?
ping
You nailed it solid.
Wait...I’m sure they also noted the 50+ million unarmed civilians killed by their armed gummint people back in the 20th century...they didn’t? Whatta surprise.../sarcasm
Only "select fire" AK-47 versions require the tax stamp. You can buy the "semi-auto only" version all day without same. Some states "do" deny their citizens the right to own even those, though.
