The Office of Faith-Based Initiatives really should be shut down. If individuals believe that any religious organization deserves funding then it should be up to the people themselves to make that choice.

Of course, this should apply to all NGOs. None should get funding of any sort from the taxpayer.

President Barack Obama signed an executive order Wednesday clarifying the ground rules for religious groups partnering with the federal government through the White House's controversial faith office.

A summary of the conditions around receiving federal funds:

• Political activities must be conducted "in a time and place that are different" from when and where they do religious activities
• Religious facilities will be allowed to keep their religious art, icons, scriptures and other religious symbols as-is
• The group will be allowed to "keep religious language in its name, select board members on a religious basis, and include religious references in its mission statements and other documents"

Of corse his executive order will be enforced against EVERYONE, except for Muslims in their mosques.

I used to help at the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving Dinner for the poor and homeless at their shelter. The Salvation Army receives federal funds.

There would always be a prayer, and gospel music..not exactly a full fledged service, but a bit of preaching on being thankful, etc.

So, is that now verboten? Feeding the poor and the transients is okay, grace before meals is out?
