Obama signs order clarifying church-state relationship

President Barack Obama signed an executive order Wednesday clarifying the ground rules for religious groups partnering with the federal government through the White House's controversial faith office.
The order says that religious organizations receiving federal funds must conduct explicitly religious activities in a time and place that are different from when and where they do government-financed work.
But the order also states that faith-based organizations receiving federal dollars may use their facilities to provide government-backed social services, even if those facilities include religious art, icons, scriptures and other religious symbols.
A religious group receiving federal money may also keep religious language in its name, select board members on a religious basis, and include religious references in its mission statements and other documents, the executive order says.
The White House framed the order as an attempt to separate religion from politics, saying in a news release that "decisions about financial awards must be free from political interference or even the appearance of such interference."
But a group that advocates strict church-state separation said the order did not go nearly far enough in that regard.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Of course, this should apply to all NGOs. None should get funding of any sort from the taxpayer.
He just gave the UN’s more power within churches in America What a dumbass turn America more and more to the UN. whats next you dumbass you resign to become the head of the UN. Go to h=e=double hockey sticks get out my country you piece of dog excrement
This guy thinks he’s the pope.
But the order also states that faith-based organizations receiving federal dollars may use their facilities to provide government-backed social services, even if those facilities include religious art, icons, scriptures and other religious symbols.

Well, in fact, there is (click on the image to take you to the site where you can get the code):
This from CNN?? That means we’ll have to wait to find out the REAL truth about Hussein’s latest attempt to rule from the Whitey House.
What does this EO have to do with the UN?
Simplified for argument:
Proposal A - The govt taxes the people $100M, spends $100M to feed 1000 poor people for a year
Proposal B - The govt taxes the people $10M, gives church $10M, church feeds 10,000 poor people for a year
It's obvious to me that the taxpayer is better served contracting with the charity as the social service provider.
Of course, I prefer:
Proposal C - The govt taxes the people $0, doesn't fund social services at all, leaving it to the charities who do it best. Local communities and individuals, relieved of part of their tax burden, efficiently allocate their giving to the greatest needs.
IOW, not in the church, synagogue, mosque, temple or other religious building. That would require building or leasing an entirely separate building, which would strain their budgets to a point of not bothering with government at all.................
Full text of executive order:
“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to guide Federal agencies in formulating and developing policies with implications for faith-based and other neighborhood organizations, to promote compliance with constitutional and other applicable legal principles, and to strengthen the capacity of faith-based and other neighborhood organizations to deliver services effectively to those in need, it is hereby ordered:
......
d) All organizations that receive Federal financial assistance under social service programs should be prohibited from discriminating against beneficiaries or prospective beneficiaries of the social service programs on the basis of religion or religious belief. “

Where's the ACLU on this?????
If it isn’t for the purpose of maintaining government, then the government shouldn’t be using confiscated tax dollars from the taxpayer for it.
We should be paying taxes only for maintaining the small government entity as prescribed by the founding fathers in our Constitution.
Congress should be meeting only as needed, NOT year round sitting and creating laws, and ways to spend our money. That is NOT their purpose.
Except that there is no delegated power granted to the Federal government to contract out social services to any organizations, religious or otherwise. Beyond that, there is no delegated power granted to the Federal government to provide any social services at all.
As a result, this office is unconstitutional and illegal, and must be shut down.
None should get funding of any sort from the taxpayer.
Some NGOs naturally do a better job than a government agency could. A church probably feeds the poor a lot better, and with a lot less waste and fraud, than food stamps.
