Joe Miller can win AK Senate Race Today (Vanity)
November 9, 2010 | no dems

Posted on 11/09/2010 6:12:41 AM PST by no dems

The count of the AK Senate Race Absentee Ballots takes place today. Currently, the total Write-in votes exceed Joe Miller's total vote count by 13,500 votes. There are 31,000 Absentee Ballots to be counted today. Absentee Ballots, which contain many military votes, normally go heavily Republican. Lisa Murkowski's name was not on the Absentee Ballot and the people who vote Absentee very seldom do the "Write-in" thing. If they do, it, many times, is not done correctly. So.......

If Joe Miller's lead, after the count of the Absentee Ballots, exceeds the 81,000 Write-in Ballots, which did not all go for Lisa anyway, turn out the lights; the party's over.

One more thorn in the side of Senate Democrats and Senator Obama’s agenda.

Not to mention the former GOP ruling class.

Hoping that at least 10,000 idiots wrote in funny names, not Liza’s

They say that, as a rule, 10% of all write-in ballots are for Mickey Mouse, Superman, etc. In this case, who knows?

I don’t know. The way she’s been acting like she’s already won, I wouldn’t be surprised if the powers that be have clued her in on the outcome of the write in ballots.

All the write-in will not go for Murkowski. And, many that do will be invalidated due to misspelling or not coloring in the oval on the write-in ballot. Joes’ lawyers will have a lot of them thrown out.

One more thing re: your Post #8: Joe does not need 22,000 of the Ab ballots to win. Don’t forget, the Dem candidate will get some of the Ab votes. 22,000 would be nice however. I’d be happy if Joe gets 18,000 of the Ab votes today, the Dem gets 10,000 and Lisa gets no more than 3,000.

I have voted for Mickey myself, on occasion :-)

Maybe my brain is still asleep this morning, but if Murky isn’t on the absentee ballot, Miller only needs 14,000 out of 30,000 to win, less than 50%, the rest go to the Democrat, who lost already. So even if all the writes count towards Benedict Murky, he wins? Or perhaps he trails by much more than 13,000 votes?

You’re comparing apples and oranges in comparing this vote count to the Delaware Senate Race. If Al Franken can pull off a victory from a recount of legitimate ballots, you better believe Joe can pull out a victory in a count of Write-in Ballots when the 31,000 absentee ballots haven’t even been counted yet, which should favor him.

You may be right; but, I’m not throwing in the towel until the last vote is counted.

Suppose all 31000 absentee ballots go to Miller. Then he goes into the write-in count with a lead of 17500. So if Murkowski gets only 17499 valid write-ins out of 81000 possible, then Miller wins for sure. A few valid write-ins for Miller will pad his margin. We can always hope.

If Joe wins BIG in the Absentee Vote count, his lawyers will fight like Gladiators to prevent his election from being stolen in the Write-in count.

I bet he will win, and the look on Murkowskis face will be priceless.

But it shouldn’t end with just the victory, what is next is the illegal campaigning on Federal property by Murkowski’s supporters.

Its the military votes that will get the Miller win.

In all fairness, I must say John Cornyn is standing with Joe and I believe he is helping finance his recount costs. And Jim DeMint is behind Joe 100%.

let’s recap.

Elections officials have stated that they do not require correct spelling (but voter intent). Hence, “senator Lisa” would likely qualify.

The current stats:
Write-ins (including Murkowski): 83,201 (41%)
Miller 69,762 (34%)
Dem-loser (48,034 (24%)

It is likely that 90-95% of write-ins go for Murkowski (about 75,000). That would be a lead of about 6,000 votes.

There are 31,000 absentee ballots to be counted.
I think absentee voting began before Miller’s scandals emerged (he admitted lying, unethical things relating his previous employement) so he is likely to get more votes than Murkowksi.

I don’t get the math. In order to bring the race to a tie using 31000 absentee ballots, Miller would need to win them 29000 to 2000.

According to the "article", Miller's vote total is trailing "Write-in" by 13,500. 31,000 absentee ballots minus 13,500 equals 17,500. So Miller needs to obtain 17500 MORE votes from the absentee ballots than "Write-in".

No, if he goes into the write-in count with a lead over "write-in" then even it the write-in count is 100% correctly cast for Murkowski, MILLER STILL WINS BECAUSE HE HAS MORE VOTES THAN "WRITE-IN".

#1. They can count 31,000 Absentee Ballots in one day if they can count 1,000,000 votes in one night after an election. This isn’t the 1940’s.

#2. They are counted in Fairbanks, if I’m not mistaken.

#3. I know that Joe has a ton of lawyers in Alaska watching the process. They WILL definitely be present for the Ab Vote count. I’m thinking that some of Joe’s Representatives will be in the Tally Room for sure.

#4. Oh yes, there will be a final decision on the Absentee vote count today because it could all be over today if Joe wins big enough.

Oh, you don't believe any of that was "legitimate" do you?

There will be a parking lot-full of cars sporting Obama bumper stickers with their trunks full of "lost ballots". All favoring "The Cow" of course.
