coons
Rove and the neocons have to go.
Well, with O’Donnell out of the way, Sarah Palin’s role as the Dems’ favorite pinata is once again secure.
Unless Castle would have bolted...which was a distinct possibility.
I loved Christine and I am so sad that she lost. She would have been a great Senator. Delaware really blew it by electing Coons
Yes, but it's not like they went out on a limb with controversial statements. They basically said that a moderate Pubbie had a much better chance than a conservative Pubbie of winning an election in an ultra-liberal state (DE), especially if the latter is viewed by the majority of the electorate as being a political lightweight. Very safe statement. Kraut and Rove work for FNC as analysts, not cheerleaders. And I watch Special Report for analysis, not cheerleading.
Sarah Palin was on FNC a minute ago echoing Rove and Kraut, saying that "O'Donnell's loss in such a blue state isn't exactly a big surprise," but that she was hoping for an upset. ...as were all of us.
And don’t forget that Fox reported that Republicans were not going to support her either - a position the Republicans stated was in error the next day. That did not help.
Laz used the tag line "First we defeated the Soviet Union, then we became them."
Our elections restricted to party approved candidates certainly reflect a United Socialist States of America (USSA) flavor...
I am still interested in seeing final numbers for Delaware.
This kind of comment on a conservative forum just baffles me.
Rove will not recover from this. Not as a conservative strategist.
His only choice is to officially start calling himself a Democratic strategist.
Cities stink up a lot of what would otherwise be decent states...
Never time to start blaming Rove. When we know who he wants, we want someone else. A strong tea party challenge to every one of his candidates.
I’d like him gone, and take his neocon buddies with him. Goodbye.
It appears that moderate / liberal Republicans didn’t vote for Christine because she was too conservative. That’s fine.
I won’t vote in the general for any candidate that isn’t conservative enough.
How will you do with your candidate without the Conservatives Karl?
You're getting it mixed up. I'm not condemning anyone. I'm pointing out that Christine O'Donnell couldn't condemn Mike Castle like many here are doing, as she would have been a hypocrite.
Do I like what is going on in Alaska, for example? No...but we're in a democratic republic, and if the people vote for someone regardless of party, then that's what we get.
It's very discouraging. But the final numbers aren't in yet though.
The old rap against Republicans was that they were stodgy and boring. But when people like Palin and O’Donnell come along, and aren’t stodgy and boring, they are panned as “unserious.” Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
He'll find out when his client Mitt Romney is kicked to the curb by the conservatives in 2012.
If the margin of victory is only a few points then Rove, Krauthammer and the Pubbie Elite are all wrong and the loss is on their shoulders for their clear lack of support and obvious undermining of her campaign right after her primary win.
If the margin of victory is greater than even Castle could have achieved, as Sarah just said on Fox, then the same applies.
ONLY if the margin of victory is overwhelming but Castle could have won are you correct. The odds are against. you.
You are not understanding the strategy here... it is a multi-election game with a decentralized power structure. Study it and win.
Reagan could not win because he’d be unable to communicate fundamental truths to illiterates. Let’s face it, our opponents are not hard-line ideologues. They are, truly, the great un-washed; and blissfully unaware that they are so! At least half of your compatriots are mental defectives! God helps us!
