Charlie Crist confirms Meek/Clinton talks: Meek schedules press conference tonight Charlie Crist said on MSNBC that he doesn't expect Kendrick Meek to drop out of the three-way U.S. Senate race: "I think that all three of us will be on the ballot.''
But he said he knew about the Clinton conversations. "How would I know?," he said, answering a question host Keith Olbermann said had been asked by the Meek campaign. "Because I had numerous phone calls with people very close to President Clinton. It's true.''

What would have happened to the thousands of votes that were cast for him in early voting if he did give up?

The good part is that Crist appeared to recognize he’s going to LOSE on Tuesday.
My deepest hope is that he will come in THIRD.
Nothing would have happened to those votes - they would remain counted for Meek.
And left the “Dem. owners” of those votes totally disenfranchised. Of course that means nothing to the D’s as it is all about winning at any cost.

Clinton aides and Crist say that Clinton convinced Meeks to drop out.
I assume that Crist leaked this to force Meek’s hand or to taint him politically.
I could also see Clinton or the White House doing this to pressure Meeks.

Meeks?...wasn’t he the espionage guy in the movie “Trading Places”, who got intimate with a gorilla?Wow, I just flashed back to that scene, and recalled that the current Senator from Minnesota played a bit role in that scene.
If only he had stayed true to his calling: minor actor, playing small rolls, badly.
