Meeks calls for press conference tonight 9:30pm

Posted on 10/28/2010 6:17:14 PM PDT by mimi from mi

Charlie Crist confirms Meek/Clinton talks: Meek schedules press conference tonight Charlie Crist said on MSNBC that he doesn't expect Kendrick Meek to drop out of the three-way U.S. Senate race: "I think that all three of us will be on the ballot.''

But he said he knew about the Clinton conversations. "How would I know?," he said, answering a question host Keith Olbermann said had been asked by the Meek campaign. "Because I had numerous phone calls with people very close to President Clinton. It's true.''

Of course he knows. Why else would he visit Martha’s Vineyard at the same time as the others in this story???

What a creep! I wish I could use stronger words!

Don’t you wish politician’s personal bank accounts were public domain? I suspect we would see a rather large deposit that coincides with whatever he announces tonight.

I have little doubt that a number of (former) Congressman Meeks’ constituents have let him know how they would feel if he surrenders this election to a pair of old crackers...

His “constituents” don’t care. They’re on the “plantation” and they like it there. Anything for Mr. Bill.

Crist admitted being on the inside track of this because he wants to bask in the glow of clinton’s blessing. He believes that should be enough to get him elected regardless of whether Meeks quits or not.

He has plenty of constituents in Florida who don’t give a damn about Bill Clinton, Charlie Crist, or any other white boy who is trying to take their Congress Critter out of the Congress. I’m sure Meeks could pull together a lot of support if he really wanted to embarrass the hell out of both Clinton and Crist.

This is going to stay ugly even after the election.

So, will Meeks drop out? Denounce Clinton? Slam Obama?

MEEKS:
“I am in this race until next Tuesday @ 7pm”
“Clinton nor DNC asked me to drop out of this race”
“Crist climbing on my back to get those voters”

Someone’s tweet: Kendrick Meek says in a press conference that reports of him stepping down are inaccurate.

More tweets:

“Kendrick Meek firmly denies dropout rumors in press conference.”

“No one has asked ME to drop out of the race.”

9:47 Eastern. Meeks still in?

Making Christ look stupid. But that isn’t hard.

The questions are still: why did Clinton confirm the story? And what is the impact on the gubernatorial race - does this help Sink with increased Dem turnout?
