Airing right now...said the real unemployment is at 17.5%...showing tons of people with masters, bachelors, phd's, you name it...unemployed for 2 years...can't even get jobs at Target.
I don’t need a job
I am a job
I am saying hire some people around you and don’t act so proud of yourself because “you found God”. some people never “left “ Him.
Nicely put.
I try to hire the best person and create a position for him/her.
I was watching an old “Bob Newhart” episode today, the second one in which Teri Garr appeared. O. M. G.
RE: “That you would post this vanity thread without a clue WTF you are talking about. You do realize there are a lot of us on the left coast that havent seen your precious 60 Minutes program”

Not sure if you’re joking or not, but I’m glad the OP put this up — now I will be sure to watch at 7 p.m. here in Los Angeles. Normally I would NEVER watch 60 Minutes since they did a horrid hit piece on a company I worked for in the eighties. We knew they would skew our words and take things out context but it was an awful report. Sunkist Growers was the organization.
That’s not going to work out like they planned.

Times are indeed tough and honest hardworking folks losing their jobs need support, not criticism.........
Living here in S.E. Michigan, I and my fellow co-workers suffered thru the recession of the Carter years. During those years, there were massive layoffs here and lots of my friends who got laid off from my plant actually did have to move out of state. But they were young so they could absorb the inconvenience.
As the recession gradually came to an end, people started getting called back to work at their respective employers, my plant included.
However, those economic times were much different than what is happening around the Detroit Metro area now. The Tier II small, medium and large job shops which used to employ die makers and other skilled tradesmen and supplied companies like mine, A Tier I, HAVE CLOSED UP AND ARE NOW OUT OF BUSINESS.
It's mind boggling the number of industrial buildings and small shops that are now sitting idle with for sale signs in front of them.......
It's one thing for a small or medium business to lay off employees and weather a recession until things pick up to the point where they can eventually recall their employees or hire new ones but it's a totally different story when these companies go out of business altogether.
That is what we are faced with here in S.E. Michigan.............
Every day it gets both more unbelievable and believable. Feels like it’s ramping up daily.
Cheapest gasoline in my area of L.A. is $3.07 now — up from $2.97 (and this is a ‘low priced’ station) a few weeks ago.
I’ve been saying for a year here on FR... DEPRESSION!

‘If I applied and you said that to me I would sue your ass to kingdom come, plus egg your house.’
What good would going into the slammer do you? The fact that businesses refuse to hire overqualified applicants has been true since at least the 1950’s, when mass college graduations set in. Sounds like ‘you can’t handle the truth’.

I think every one of the restaurants on Polaris is filled will illegals in the kitchens....they put the white folk at the drive through windows and out front to wait tables....the illegals are fairly hidden from view....but even my Wendy’s has Hispanic music blaring in the back. When there’s a raid, word gets out and they scatter for a few days, but they come back. What ticks me off is the untold numbers who are doing all of the construction jobs. Every single new construction site I’ve passed I’ve stopped and observed only spanish-speaking workers with out of state plates. Construction jobs used to pay very well.
This economy is not going to turn around. You don't understand. This will likely stop only when our wages are equivalent to the rest of the world's. Say a dollar an hour or so or the equivalent buying power for normal workers. The paradigm you remember is over. At least for decades. I would suggest a bit more charity.
Hell freezes over on 60 Minutes
It's attitudes like this that help lead people towards socialism/communism. Companies have no problem firing people during tough times, but it's high treason for people to leave for better jobs during good times. I know that hiring people is tough and not made easier by the government, but you shouldn't help in validating Marx's "immiseration" thesis.
“Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;
Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.”
This winter is going to be long. And cold. And totally unforgiving. And not only in the North, LOL!
Batten down the hatches. We are in for one rough ride in the coming years. (Possibly, an entire Decade.)
Thank you Garbanzo
The question I’m curious about is what proportion of government and media officials consciously desire for this country an economic collapse followed by a Marxist revolution.
Also, what percentage of liberal voters would flee the democratic party if they were to realize Marxist revolution is the agenda.
