You just don’t get it...
Here is a quote for you: “We had to abandon the principles of the free market to save the free market!”
Our country is absolutely not better off because of George Bush he will most certainly go down in history as one of the worst Presidents this country has ever had.
Are you completely out of touch with reality? Look around...maybe Obozo is so bad you think Bush is better than this...but it is a FACT that Bush helped and deliberately so...to destroy our Republic and move us to the Progressive goal of globalization.
George Bush is not a conservative not at all his reckless spending record and the debacle of 2006 is absolute proof that he sucked as a President and now EVERY single FREEPER and AMERICAN is hurting because of his actions.
Again since you seriously don’t have a clue...I am not blaming O’Donnell’s situation soley on Rove...but he has deliberately damaged her chances. That’s a fact.
Yeah Soro’s is spending millions too...doesn’t make him a good guy. Rove is not doing anything to restore America he is trying to keep the Progressive agenda live and well with the establishment...think about it for a second...Bush then McCain...really...really these are the best the GOP can do!
It is so easy to crticise someone on hindsight but GWB had to deal with the reality then and his Presidency is mixed.
GWB did give America 2 sold supreme court justices and this has helped in somewhat stopping obama’s destructive agenda.
Look it so easy for you to vent hate against GWB but think rationally and you can see some goodness in his presidency.
Rove post primary comments are way too overrated and Christine O Donnell personal failures are the main reasons overwhelmingly for her lousy polls.
Rove’s Crossroads has spent millions on crucial seats this election and this has proved immensely helpful in getting conservatives elected.
Try to think logically and to compare Soros with Rove is just dumb and ridiculous.
You are rationalizing. If Bush had really done his service for this country we wouldn't have Obama today - PERIOD. Obama’s election is the final verdict on Bush.
What about John Bolton, Rumsfeld, etc...??? Seriously Bush screwed up big time and so did the GOP - they sold this country down the road with their insane big government approach and spending.
Earth to Rove — Return to planet. Time to tell Maes to step down. Where are you, Rove? Are you a conservative or a fifth columnist?

I have never understood why this man or others in his line of work are considered to be politcal geniuses. I have listened to him and to Dick Morris or James
Carville and some others who have run or been closely involved in political matters and I dont hear any great insights or understanding that I cant find on these threads most days of the week.
I’ve noticed the same.
‘I assume that would apply to Freepers viciously attacking RINO winners of primaries? The double standard here is sick.’
Karl Rove is a professional Republican politician. His job involves working to nominate the best possible GOP candidates in his opinion, and then FIGHT for any candidates nominated by the Republican voters (assuming that they aren’t David Dukes). He failed at his job.
We are amateur conservative activists. Our job is to nominate the best conservative candidates available. After the primaries our job is to FIGHT for these conservative candidates in the general election. Should a non-conservative get the nomination, we have to decide if they are sufficiently acceptable, in the circumstances, to support or even vote for.
We are doing our job, he screwed up his job.
We are NOT a Republican forum, we are a conservative forum. We should support Republicans when we consider that Republican to be better for the country and the conservative movement than any other alternatives. If he isn’t better then we should oppose or ignore him as circumstances require. That course is inappropriate for a professional republican operative.
He is currently a private citizen. He is not employed by a Republican entity as far as I know. He has no duty to FIGHT for anyone. It certainly isn't his "job". He screwed up and let his true concerns about O'Donnell out in public. BFD. He still has helped more Republicans get elected than any other person in the country.
we have to decide if they are sufficiently acceptable, in the circumstances,to support or even vote for.
Sure, if they're not conservative enough you help the Democrat be elected. Great strategy!
I still think its two-faced for freepers to trash Rove because he criticized a nominated Republican when they turn around and trash nominated Republicans for whatever reason.
They like O'Donnell and are po because Rove said bad things about her...being the nominated candidate doesn't really have anything to do with it.
Unfortunately, we have become a libertarian forum...when I signed up we were a conservative forum.
We should support Republicans when we consider that Republican to be better for the country and the conservative movement than any other alternatives.
I would be happy with just voting the Democrats out of office. That means voting for the nominated Republican whether you like them or not. If an independent is the strong horse (aka Tancredo) vote for them. Vote for the one that will DEFEAT the DEMOCRAT.
The time for preening and posturing is over unless you like Obama and the Dems in control.
‘He is currently a private citizen’
I said he was a professional Republican politician. Like any professional he retains his profession whether or not he has a client. if a lawyer does not have a client and robs a bank, he loses his profession. If a doctor cuts of the wrong organ he will lose his profession. If a professional Republican politicians goes around attacking Republican candidates for office, he will lose his profession.
Freepers who are not even Republicans have no such professional obligation.
‘Vote for the one that will DEFEAT the DEMOCRAT.’
In Delaware, after the primary, only O’Donnell stood any chance of defeating the Democrat. If Rove did not realize ‘the time for preening and posturing is over unless you like Obama and the Dems in control’, why should we?
Just as soon as Bush’s election in 2000 was secure, Bush should have arranged for Rove to go hunting with the vice-president.
In his defense, he knew she didn't have a snowballs chance of winning anyway. Our side's chance to control the Senate ended with her nomination (its pretty evident now, but I hope she will pull off an upset).
If Rove did not realize the time for preening and posturing is over unless you like Obama and the Dems in control, why should we?
Because he was wrong, is it OK for freepers to make the same mistake?
Regardless, he still should have kept his comments to himself. That's my advice to freepers in the same situation (once the nominations are over) and has been for almost six years.
But please, don't argue that Rove is a POS because he didn't support the Republican nominee. That's just silly on FR. Be honest and say that he's a POS because he said something bad about your candidate.
He has a responsibility to support all Republicans. We do not. It is like complaining that a fireman isn’t good at surgery.
I think at this stage, we all have the responsibility to support all Republicans if we want to defeat the Democrats (exception for Tancredo).
It's a double standard to require it of Rove but not other "conservatives". Period.
Exactly.
‘I think at this stage, we all have the responsibility to support all Republicans if we want to defeat the Democrats (exception for Tancredo).’
In general you’re correct, but of this group ONLY Rove has a PROFESSIONAL responsibility to do so.
“The fat RINO is still usefull; his Crossroads organization has raised a lot of money to help the Republicans get candidates elected in the midterms. The Republican Party could potentially be useful as well in stopping Obozos agenda from moving through Congress.”
You nailed it. But what he did to Christine is so typical of the Rino mice.
I disagree. He's as much a private citizen as you are. He's not employed by the Republicans and he sure isn't on the Tea Party Express' payroll. If he was, it would be different. I'd support firing him because he would have had a professional responsibility to the Repubs or TPE. As it is, he's a free agent like any other conservative, only higher profile.
