Is it just me, or do ALL the miners look to be in way better shape than the rescuers??
So who’s gonna rescue the rescuers?

It takes guts for those paramedics to go DOWN into that mine. My husband has been a hardrock miner for 35 years and on mine rescue for many of them. He said the same thing, going down there takes guts.

I’m wondering about that pulley contraption. It has some kind of rope dangling off the end of it - aren’t they concerned it might get tangled up with the cable?

All it does is keeps the cable centered above the hole.
So it doesn’t rub on the sides and possibly grind or wear away or break.
