Reporting from Washington A Republican majority in Congress would mean "hand-to-hand combat" on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy, President Obama warned Thursday.
Speaking on Michael Baisden's syndicated radio show, Obama also made a direct appeal to African Americans about the importance of the November vote, even though he's not on the ballot himself.
"The reason we won [in 2008] is because young people, African Americans, Latinos -- people who traditionally don't vote in high numbers -- voted in record numbers. We've got to have that same kind of turnout in this election," he said. "If we think that we can just vote one time, then we have a nice party at Obama's inauguration, and then we can kind of sit back and suddenly everything's going to change that's just not how it works."

Well said OldMissileer from another old missileer although I don’t go back as far as Atlas.
I am not advocating a civil war. I am advocating they they be properly confronted and have to defend their actions.
A demonstration with pitchforks and torches can be entirely peaceful. I suggest we march, listen to speakers, sing patriotic songs and later go home, peacefully.
I am sure just like a good trash detail can be organized, a good ‘discipline’ detail can be organized too.
But the symbolism of the march should be unmistakable too. They should know afterward they have been duly warned. They should be fully aware after the course of this peaceful demonstration that they push too far. They must know that their actions have consequences and that we know what the last argument of tyrants really is...
The last argument of tyrants is force.
Show this to them, show this to the American people simultaneously, and that may - may - short-circuit their decision tree - and perhaps they will do what they can to avoid a civil war.
Perhaps, given enough persuasion, they will see the error.
Sometimes the stakes need to be higher before we know the true character of ourselves and our opponents.
Let them reveal their true character.
>I am not advocating a civil war. I am advocating they they be properly confronted and have to defend their actions.
Oh, no, you misunderstand.
‘He’ is Obama; his threatening rhetoric is completely consistent with the mindset that, when held by those in authority, will strike back at any questioning-of or challenge-to that authority.
>The last argument of tyrants is force.
Indeed; and I believe that once people start showing true & spirited opposition [such as the torch & pitchfork demonstration] to the officials [be they bureaucratic or elected] there will be the usage of force.
It is all too likely that that usage of force will spark the keg, so to speak, for civil war.
>Sometimes the stakes need to be higher before we know the true character of ourselves and our opponents.
I fear hearing “You have been tried and are found wanting...” [a ref to Revelation].
>Let them reveal their true character.
Indeed so.
We need a montage of those clips.
I'm not quite old enough for Atlas. I was in Titan II and Minuteman III.
Take care.
Thank you for taking the time to correct me and to clarify.
I am defensive and tired today. I am tired of being called a nut because I believe that Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the whole pack of them have gone too far.
I am tired of watching my children’s America and their freedoms eroded.
I am tired of the endless debate and deciding that this loss of freedom is acceptable.
I am tired of watching this cancer steal us dead from the inside.
I am tired of the snarky comments that don’t ammount to one iota of action, as funny as they may be.
I am especially tired of asking if I am the only one who is tired of this.
The Won’s mouth writes a lot of checks his “backside” can’t cash.
EXECUTIVE ORDER: Distribute this campaign poster to all Democrat campaign hdq.
CAPTION: "Voters, Obama is baptized in the fire of faith."
" Alleluia, Obama's been saved. Thank you, Jesus. Amen."
This moron never had to fight for anything in his life, the dips***.
BRING IT YOU COMMUNIST MARXIST PROGRESSIVE TRAITOR!
Prepare yes...
Prepare by rolling torches and sharpening pitchforks so they glisten in the torchlight...
I won’t advocate taking up arms till they initiate the use of force.
But I see no reason not to push this tyranny into revealing its true character - as either chickens who don’t mean it - or as tyrants who do.
Then I won’t be passing out torches. No, sir. But that time has not come yet. Torches and pitchforks will do for now.
Let's all here pray that you are wrong.
As you know, 0dumboCARE only will divide and bring the country to it's knees. (already has begun to.)
I shudder to think what a second civil war would be like.
However, if that's what it takes to save this country. Count me in. I'll do everything I can to save us from the libs.
Those are just the 3 that came to mind, I’m sure there are more.
He’s calling us out. He’s taunting Americans. Then he rubs his new found wealth in our noses with elaborate super expensive vacations, entertainment, foods and all the “bling” he can get his hands on.
>We must not take up arms against ourselves, in my view, instead we must work to defeat the enemy. Though the enemy surrounds us, our God is mighty. Our God will not fail us.
Intriguing... I think it appropriate, however, to point out the Book of Esther; in this book the enemy was a group of citizens [possibly a very politically active group] championed by a man who the supreme-ruler/state trusted.. and also in this book the ‘way’ God opened was for His People to gather together and kill those who would do them harm.
I too keep my weapons for defense. I do not relish using my weapons for offense. I believe you to be correct with your post. The time has not yet come for other means. I pray that time never does arrive. I stand at the ready for such a day should that day come. The time has not yet come! My total agreement with you.
He looks Gorgeous in that outfit!!!
So true!
