(Reuters) - Republican candidate Marco Rubio has opened a clear lead in a Florida Senate race, becoming the latest "Tea Party" favorite to benefit from voter anger at Washington, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found on Wednesday.
Six weeks ahead of Nov. 2 congressional elections, Rubio leads state Governor Charlie Crist, an independent, by 40 percent to 26 percent among likely voters, the poll found. Democrat Kendrick Meek trails at 21 percent.

Crist should give up his fraudulent pretense and announce that he is going to pursue his OWN gay marriage at the earliest opportunity
Working ... doing what .... is any body's guess ;)
You know, I almost think that Crist was trying to hand the seat to Rubio, since I could not see how Crist going far-left would ever do anything but clear the field for Rubio.
Of course that wasn’t his intent, but it’s obvious now how STUPID Crist is and how lucky we are to have outed him (in more ways than one).
They write it like people are mad at the city or random politicians in general.
I wonder if they're too stupid to notice that the revolution is against LEFTISTS?
Not "Washington." Not "incumbents." Not "politicians."
It's leftists in the electorate's crosshairs. Keep not noticing Reuters. It's all good.
that’s great but we also need Scott to win as there is no way right now we can have Sink get into that position,
This year the Gov’s will be redistricting and we need Scott for that and the 2012 election .
Scott get spending that money now as I never see you on the airwaves here and yet Sink is all over the place.
I guess he's met somebody special.
But....but....but....Crist says he's going to take the best of both Democrat and Republican ideas and...and...and...uh...be just fabulous.
really do you have a link as all the polls show him down here?
Rubio is an outsider with no chance of winning. Why do we want to risk losing this senate seat. Crist is our best hope. We need to stop being purists and get behind the candidate that can win.
/s
What's that?
Oh.
Never mind.
It’s hard to imagine Crist really opposing it in the first place...
Crist is finished in Republican politics, as soon as he decided to run as an independent.
Same will happen to Lisa Murkowski in Alaska if she decides to run as a write-in / third party candidate. Now she still has a chance to get a position in GOP political machine and run for the Senate in 2014. If she is “going rogue” / independent in this election cycle - she is finished, the dynasty name recognition will not help her later.
They’re just full of air.
That would be an interesting way to split the left and indie vote :-)
You may be on to something there. But I wonder how it feels to have your butt handed to you twice by the same guy (Rubio beat him in the primary and the general).
That’s because virtually all Republicans voted for Lieberman. Crist could have a chance if Meek were threatened/bribed to leave the race and endorse Crist.
That's good.
The difference between the Rubio-Crist margin and Scott-Sink margin has been all over the place!
Clearly contradictory results.
I'm thinking Sink is a point or two ahead.
Meeks being black makes it really difficult for the Dems to squeeze him out in favor of Crist, in my view.
But their hypocrisy knows no limits so this could still turn.
It’s in the body of that reuters article discussing Rubio/Crist/Meek. It was 47 to 45 for Scott I believe.
Maybe Bawny Fwanks old seat will be open soon.
thank you
...but, but, but...the liberals keep telling me that Scott Brown tea party candidates can’t win...
