41 Obama White House aides owe the IRS $831,000 in back taxes -- and they're not alone

Over the years a lot of suspicion has built up across the country about Washington and its population of opportunistic transients coming to see themselves as a special kind of person, somehow above average working Americans who don't work down in that former swamp.
Well, finally, an end to all those undocumented doubts. Thanks to some diligent digging by the Washington Post, those suspicions can at last be put to rest.
They're correct. Accurate. Dead-on. Laser-guided. On target. Bingo-bango. As clear as it's always seemed to those Americans who don't feel special entitlements and do meet their government obligations.
We now know that federal employees across the nation owe fully $1 billion in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.
As in, 1,000 times one million dollars. All this political jabber about giving middle-class ...
... Americans a tax cut. Thousands of feds have been giving themselves one all along -- unofficially. And these tax scofflaws include more than three dozen folks who work for the president with that newly decorated Oval Office.
The Post's T.W. Farnum did some research and found that out of the total sum, just 638 workers on Capitol Hill owe the IRS $9.3 million in back taxes. As in, overdue. The IRS gets stiffed by the legislative body that controls its budget. How Washington works.
[Snip]
Privacy laws prevent release of individual tax delinquents' names. But we do know that as of the end of 2009, 41 people inside Obama's very own White House owe the government they're allegedly running a total of $831,055 in back taxes. That would cover a lot of special chocolate desserts in the White House Mess.

There's truly only one accurate label for this administration.
It's a criminal enterprise...
There are 41 tax cheats known to be serving in it. Some of them are not just aides. Some of them are actual department heads.
Every Czar is an end run on Congressional oversight.
It's only fair to point out, Congress has been complicit in approving tax cheats. Congress is complicit in allowing Czars to serve without Congressional vetting. Congress is complicit in allowing Obama to do serious damage to our economy, our alliances, and our global standing. He rips us a new one every time he meets another world leader. And he bows before them frequently.
This IS NOT how our government is supposed to work.
We have a president that refuses to confirm he is a natural born citizen. His administration is riddled with Tax Cheats. His advisors are some of the most anti-Capitalist, anti-Republic, anti-American people on planet earth.
What we have here is a rogue government, doing it's best to take down our nation. It's high time our elected officials recognize this and do something about it.

All government employees, whether county, city, state or federal, in reality pay no taxes on their government incomes. That is a hard concept for some people to realize, but it's true. They simply do not....................

“One does not question the dear leader or his staff.” He is not near or dear to me. If they are in the Legislative branch of Government and you owe the American people back taxes, then you cannot VOTE until you have paid you debt! I don’t care if you have a D or R or I by your name, pay you damn taxes or resign immediately. All their names should be published, so we know who the real crooks are. Come on November!
To: mom4melody
Why wait? If you are a federal employee earning $50K, that is $50K that is being paid by private employees' tax withholdings. Any tax "withheld" from the $50K ($10K?) has already been paid by by a private sector employee's withholdings (or is debt to be paid by their children or grandchildren).
If you don't believe me, ask yourself: "where would my salary come from if there were no private taxpayers?" - no private taxpayers = no federal salaries = no federal tax "withholdings"
Again, YMMV

If they would get rid of the IRS and the income tax this wouldn't happen.

I understand what you’re saying RB. I hope I’m not stealing your thunder, but...
Any employee who is a “civil servant” or military member receives pay as a result of taxes collected from the private sector.
They then have their checks “reduced” or they are “rebating” a portion of their pay back to the pot it came from originally.
I wonder if state employees get higher pay to offset the federal taxes that get withheld?
I used to have fun with folks about this when I was in the service. I still do with the DoD contractors I work with.

That is why liberals think that if they grow the government, the economy will grow.
It doesn’t.
The money to pay for the gov employees must be removed from the economy to pay them, therefore shrinking the “pie” that’s left in the private sector.
Here’s a simple explanation:
If all people, 100%, worked for the government, who would pay the taxes to pay them?
Remember, the government HAS NO MONEY of it’s own.
It must either tax the people or print money which becomes worth less and less until it become worthless. Zimbabwe is a prime example................

“In the House of Representatives, 421 people owe a total $6,524,892. In the Senate, 217 owe $2,774,836. In the IRS parent department, Treasury, 1,204 owe $7,670,814. At the Labor Department, where Secretary Hilda Solis husband had some back-tax problems before her confirmation, 463 owe $7,481,463. Eighty-one workers for the Federal Reserve Systems board of governors owe $1,076,733.
Over at the Justice Department, which is so busy enforcing other laws and suing Arizona, 1,971 employees still owe $14,350,152 in overdue taxes.”
Thanks kcvl.

I asked a die-hard liberal friend of mine why he votes for people who will raise his taxes. His reply was, “no problem, I’ll just cheat more on my taxes.”
