It’s my impression that they are asking him to sign EVERY single mission, that they won’t take action unless BHO personally okays each specific hit.
They need to protect themselves, don’t you recall how they were planning to prosecute CIA agents who were doing their jobs?
Remember all the talk that continually recurs about arresting Rummie, Bush, Cheney, etc for War Crimes?
They have to protect themselves. Anything they do cannot be questioned if it has the Seal of The One on it, right?
Private 1st Class Christopher R. Barton
Sergeant Erick J. Klusacek
Private Adam J. Novak
Private 1st Class Chad D. Coleman
Remember these names. They are the names of soldiers of the 1st Squadron, 33d Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division. They are the names of soldiers of that squadron who have been killed in action since the arrival of that unit in Afghanistan. LTC Lakin disobeyed orders assigning him as the surgeon of this squadron. He refused to deploy, and was therefore not in a position to render life saving medical treatment to these soldiers. We don’t know if LTC Lakin might have made a difference, but what would you like to say to their families?
What Lakin is doing is a political stunt that is being shown to be without any legal foundation. He’s having his day in court, but meanwhile, these four men have been laid in their graves. I have no sympathy for Lakin or for those so lamely defending him. You are all making fools of yourselves.
I feel sorry for you, you refuse to recognize true bravery when it is exhibited with danger of great personal harm to the brave soldier. It is not a stunt, like what you are doing posting your drivel.
Next I suppose you will post some bloody pictures and want us to make the leap that had this doctor been in the ME instead of a different doctor that these other soldiers would be alive. Sad shortsighted logic.
What happens if millions of people get blownup by us having an un-American Usurper in charge of our nuclear weapons and he throws a gay fit and wags the dog by starting WW III?
You are a despicable piece of fecal material working FR for god only knows what ill. The anguish of the families is merely a tool to your twisted posting. You are ... oh, never mind. You are so despicable that you will not acknowledge the essence of the post, will, in typical Alinskyesque style twist the issue to focus upon the deaths and the family mourning as evidence of your despicable manipulative crap, and Jim Robinson will protect your right to continue being as despicable as you please on the issue of Barry the Bastard boy's very suspect eligibility.
I only pinged you, Jim, because i mentioned your name.
So, am I to understand that you only want to hear from people who agree with you? That's an odd position to take, especially since every court ruling since 2008 have made it clear that your arguments have no merit.
If this were just a silly little political argument that would be one thing, but LTC Lakin's reckless action means that soldiers do not have the medical care that they need and deserve. If you want to continue defending his foolish decisions, be my guest.
So you want to tell us that the 101 doesn’t have medical attention, that there is no one who was put in Larkin’s place when he did not deploy! You are not only a despicable shillf or the bastard-in-chief, you’re a bold liar! And that you would seek to manipulate this forum with your deceits and spitefully refernce the mourning of the families of these honorable dead is more proof that you are merely a fake, a fraud, a despicable Internet turd flaoting through FR.
Thank you for your kind remarks. I know that it is quite convenient to overlook the fact that LTC Lakin’s actions have had a very real and tangible effect on soldier’s lives and welfare, but that is simply an irrefutable truth. Its a very ugly consequence of his decision.
My position in all of this has focused on my prediction of what the military courts would allow in discovery. Today, they ruled exactly as I have predicted. That says nothing about where Mr. Obama may or may not have been born, nor does it speak to why he has gone to considerable lengths to hide his past from the American people. But, that question will be addressed in the political arena and I hope that he and his ilk are banished forever from the political scene. Meanwhile, soldiers in harm’s way need their surgeons and it was clearly Lakin’s duty to be there for them.
Call it what you will, its my opinion and I’m proud to hold it.
I smell ozone in your future, azzhat liar.
So you want to tell us that the 101 doesnt have medical attention
Of course they do, and of course they replaced Lakin. But, he shirked his duty to these soldiers to pursue a mindless little legal challenge. His duty to these soldiers takes precedence to this political piece of theater. Soldiers need to attend to their duty and leave the political fights to others.
Some here are simply contemptible... totally
below-the-belt ..truly blasphemous.
Ltc. Lakin has military duty .. at Walter Reed
Medical Center .. caring for our brave wounded
soldiers.
~~~
The afternoon before the hearing, LTC Steven Brodsky told LTC Lakin’s counsel that Lakin must report hours before the hearing to his duty post at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in order for him to be “transported under escort” to make sure he showed up at the arraignment “to avoid embarrassing his unit.”
Brodsky rejected all pleas from Lakin’s counsel that this was not merely highly unusual and that an enlisted man facing similar charges would not suffer such indignity, but that there was zero chance that Lakin would not attend a hearing when he had, quite literally “invited [his] own court martial.”
Brodsky told Lakin’s counsel that an Army Colonel had been detailed to be Lakin’s escort and that he, Brodsky, would not reconsider. However, Brodsky is a judge advocate, and as such his job is to prosecute LTC Lakin. He has no role -or at least should have no role-in deciding the manner in which Lakin relates to his commanders, and vice versa.
Ltc. Brodsky’s the one who was overheard discussing
tasering Ltc. Lakin.
Bully, not bullie
Good bye, not good by
I hope that you enjoy a long and rewarding stay on Free Republic.
Careful now, you will expose the centurion316 deceit and spiteful use of the mourning families of honorable soldiers as a lever for his despicable attacks on Freepers and Larkin and birthers.
Here’s the full story for context.
Having worked temporarily in a hostile corporate environment, I have had to require my boss’s signature on something or required him to put his instructions in writing because I was highly uncomfortable with the instructions and I knew that I’d take the blame (and lose my job) if I didn’t get indisputable proof that I was instructed to take specific action.
Normally, I would recommend resigning if one objects to the boss’s instructions. He’s your boss. He’s been given authority over you. It’s your job to do as he instructs. If you can’t do that, you need to find another job. In my particular case, however, there had been a significant culture change in upper management and we all knew it wouldn’t last long. So we stuck it out.
Maybe sin-turion will get zotted.
He’s like a Code Pink guy. Or the wimmen in Blak.
You're no Nostradamus. Well gee, we all likely believed that justice would not be served today. Doesn't mean that the winds of change won't happen tomorrow where these people eventually get called on for their duplicity and lies.
So, what do you think will be the result of today’s ruling by the Judge? My opinion is that there will be a quick trial and a quicker conviction. Too bad for Lakin. His appeal chances aren’t looking very good either.
I think that the real tragedy of all of this is that the folks who talked Lakin into this will not have to pay any price. His career will be the only thing that suffers.
I wouldn’t p*** on you if you were on fire.
You are certainly right about that. Predicting this was akin to predicting that the Sun will come up tomorrow. I do think that justice was served, no other ruling could be made under the law. I do feel sorry for Lakin and the price that he will be made to pay. He was misinformed.
Committing fraud is crime. People go to jail for it every day. Go back under your rock.
