The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.
The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

zero continues to overstep his authority. Like Arizona, this is a state’s rights issue to step in and take action when the federal government won’t.
Bobby Jindal (who I’m REALLY starting to like) needs to tell the feds to get the h#ll out of his state and let the men take care of things in Louisiana.
(The reference to “men” automatically excludes zero and his gang of thugs!
“...given an understanding of the motives of this nihilistic crowd, their actions make perfect sense”
TRUE....and I don’t know why I am STILL astounded by their repeated stupidity.
I second that! Get a whole bunch of armed Cajuns down there in a hurry!
agree..doesnt look like an accident anymore.
I used to say “never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity”,
but not with this crowd. My discernment has gone WAY up and my benefit of the doubt has gone way down. Their motives are EVIL. Every agenda item is in opposition to the Truth and Law of God.
When will a governor retake a true definition of federalism? POTUS is not any governor's boss! They answer to the people of their state.
Reasons why Federal Gov’t Halts Sand Berm Dredging:
1) Racial quotas not being observed.
2) Lack of Diversity Sensitivity training
3) TPS reports not submitted
4) Workers did not attend Multicultural Seminars.
5) Gay/Lesbian awareness conferences ignored.
6) One Sand Berm ship had a Crucifix on it violating separation of Church and State guidelines.
7) Not enough GreenPeace members involved with the dredging process.
8) Ships not Unionized
9) Too Many NRA members are in the crew
10) One ship had a Palin 2012 bumper sticker visible.
Cloward & Piven,look it up
There's no other way to look at it. Unbelievable.
There's no way this isn't intentional. I guess O has figured out he'll never be reelected so he's doing whatever he can, while he can, to create his idea of a "perfect" nation.
Actually, the response would probably be, while the missile was on its way here, to call Hillary and ask her to go talk to the N. Koreans, maybe even stop and pick up Jimmah on the way.
...crisis after crisis, the Odumbo way, we must make the people of the gulf suffer so they will become dependent of the government for their existence. CAP AND TRADE LOOMS...pulled back from defeat........
“you never want a serious crisis to go to waste, and what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you didn’t think you could do before.”
It is NOT stupidity. It is wanton evil.
couldn’t agree more, I’d support LA if they just told the Fed’s to go away. With 30% of domestic oil, it wouldn’t take long for the message to get through.
I lived on a barrier island....they dredged all the time!!!
Yep -- tell the Feds that we're not dredging anymore just digging for some green energy.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. More proof that we need “big government”. In an emergency, you do what you have to do. Mr. Obama’s lackeys and true believers in the news media are covering for his rampant incompetence.
It's obvious that the EPA, US Fish and Wildlife Department, Army Corps of Engineers, etc are more concerned about protecting their political turf than saving the estuaries. Gov. Jindal needs to exercise his power as the State Executive and tell these Federal government agencies to f*ck off. |
How did the Federal Sand Berm Police "shut down" the dredging? Did they send a letter? An email? Was it a phone call?
They haven't sent in armed Sand Berm Police (yet), have they?
Gov Jindal and the local parish authorities should tell the Sand Berm Police to go pound sand; and they should continue their dredging activities and doing whatever else they need to do to protect their state.
