It's unfortunate that the General did a MacArthur. It's also an indictment of Obama that his hand-picked choice to lead the effort said this out loud. How long before the next guy decides to tell the world about what a jerk Obama is?

Well, it’ was Breaking News about 12 hours ago.
I’ve never, in 26 years of Military Service, ever, heard a General Officer, speak off the cuff.
Oh, I’ve heard them say stuff in private, but never public!
They go through what they call ‘Charm School” when they make the 1st star.
This was all calculated!

Maybe Obummer should just go ahead and appoint Z-Big and skip the middleman

Yeah, that should improve military morale ................................................................................................................................. NOT !!!!
Then again, perhaps that was the intended purpose of the Obama regime.

An hour after announcing his resignation he should hold another press conference and announce that he is running for President.
Seriously.

Good... Now Obama can get on with the serious business of losing the war without all of these distractions.

Since when does the Senate have to “confirm” a military reassignment, or are they talking about needing their approval to give the new guy his fourth star? And it’s Marine Corps Commandant, not commander. Even as an E-1 and on up I worked mostly with flag officers (generals and admirals - both American and foreign) so this seems like an intentional thing to me, with McChrystal trying to hint around to us that Dear Leader is a naked emperor.

Not surprising. On HotAir, I think some commenter called it (see the comment:
here).
Yon has also been on McChrystal's case for a while. I think Yon overstressed some of the gripes and let his personal feelings get in the way, but McChrystal also appears to have messed up on more than just the article. Apparently, front line troops have had problems with the command and ops.

If Obama accepts the resignation, that’ll be the second commander of the Afghanistan security force that Obama has replaced. Obama came into office after years of bashing the Iraqi war effort, saying that Afghanistan was the right war to fight. But the Afghanistan effort is collapsing under his presidency, under the weight of the simple fact that Obama really doesn’t want to fight or win this war.

McChrystal is being cashiered.
This whole thing is a dog and pony show.
This has nothing to do with ‘betting one’s bars’ (or stars).
I believe this to be repercussion to Lakin into the dungeon issue.

Is McCrystal the best man for the job or isn’t he?
If he is, it is disgusting they are replacing him.
