If you approach a congressman in Washington D.C. and try to ask them what seems to be a pretty simple question and he goes nuts, grabbing at you and demanding to know who you are
dont answer him. Why not answer? This guy is showing aggressive behavior and has enough power -- since we gave it to them -- to make your life miserable for years to come. I dont blame the guy for not answering. Without further comment, I give you Rep. Bob Who are You Etheridge (D-N.C.).

IIRC, he can’t be arrested (for anything) if Congress is in session.
Not only that, but the student kept asking to be released..and then the idiot puts him in some sort of head lock and moves him over as if he is taking a picture with him.
Perhaps he didn’t know it was a video camera and thought he could pretend he was just taking a photo with the boy.
More than likely, MSM will headline it as:
“Amish Troublemaker Provokes Respected Congressman”
Does Etheridge come from one of the “safe” districts where he is untouchable by uninformed voters?
You're missing the point. By refraining from slamming the Congresscritter to the pavement, he instead slammed the guy's career and future to the pavement instead. Glenn Beck is reportedly talking about this on his radio show, and may mention it on TV later.
Does Etheridge come from one of the “safe” districts where he is untouchable by uninformed voters?
“But according to my local talk radio show host and friend, Jim Vicevich, his sister, SoundOffSister, this US Rep. CAN be ARRESTED for both assult and battery.”
There are lots of laws that are SUPPOSED to apply to Congressmen. Back when America was a functioning Republic, being in Congress was not a ticket to be above the law.
Those days are long gone, just ask Charlie Rangel.
Etheridge won’t be charged. He won’t even be questioned regarding this event. He’s royalty.
No

Maybe Odumbo will tick the Britith off enough that they'll do it in 2012, to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.
This guy was totally out of line with his response, but it was a bit of an ambush by the kid. He should have said, “Young man, if you identify yourself and are from my district I will be happy to set up an appointment with you to discuss my views on issues that are important to you. You can call my office at ______ to set up an appointment.” The congressman’s behavior is inexcusable, but the kid wasn’t totally blameless. Should people have to give up their privacy rights completely when they are elected to Congress?
He always sounds drunk. Seriously.
Etheridge was completely within his right to do what he did. Did this young man have a democratic counterpart to do an interview from the other side? No, he DID NOT! I mean come on, does the fairness doctrine mean anything or not? /sarcasm
He was going to/from a fund raiser for Pelosi. This is no different than a reporter asking a question in the middle of a sidewalk.
Do you remember the video of the thug that acosted a reporter trying to ask questions of Scott Brown’s opponent.
This reminds me of that incident. Except this a young kid in a suit . The jerk doesn’t get nasty until he is asked about Obama
Wonder why Etheridge is so scared about being asked whether he “supports the Obama agenda.”
To Mr & Mrs.student’s parents....raise hell and then give that boy a “well done, son”!
Well, if you are elected to public office, REMEMBER he is suposed to work for WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
Liberal blogger Glenn Greenwald says this Congressman should be arrested for assault: http://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/16149347869
That is my rep. So all in NC-2 vote for Renee Ellmers and give Bob Etheridge a long vacation so he can reflect on and perhaps profit by the rebuke!
