(AP) RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Republican mayor of Reno says the U.S. Senate candidate chosen this week by the Nevada GOP to take on Democrat Harry Reid is an "ultra right-winger" whom he cannot support.
Mayor Bob Cashell says former state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle is "just too far to the right for me."

Explain why people are overreacting fearing her re-election chances when she was the one leading in the polls before the primary and is the one leading after the primary. The establishment’s candidate had already sunk in the polls before the primary so how was that person a better choice then Angle?
People here are no making sense.
Do you believe in conservaive principles or don’t you? If you do why are you so afraid of a candidate representing them? Angle isn’t going down because she is a conservative. The only way she can be brought down is if she makes misseps in speech or action that take the attention off of Reid. The way the more moderate Republican in the primary who led before Angle did.
This is a woman who wants to make alcohol illegal...in a state like Nevada? Sweet Jesus, why did Nevadans nominate this woman?

The fact that this story is even being portrayed as 'news' by CBS News proves that they're desperate to come up with anything to rescue Scrotum-Face Harry.
Bob Cashell is just a casino owner, and so is his son who's trying to resurrect a casino in Tahoe. The mayor has held fundraisers for Reid going back years ago and even recently expressed 'doubt' about the other Republican running against Reid a few weeks back:

Harry Reid will be like navel lint as if nobody ever knew him in the first place.
