Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.
It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.
As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.
While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.
Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.
Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)
You know what? If she runs and that’s the worst dirt they can come up with...bring it. Bring. It. Because, first, this wasn’t a matter of a governor waking up one morning during an uneventful term and deciding she was bored with the whole job thingy and wanted to do something else. I’m not sure even guys like Mark Sanford (just to name one) were getting the kind of misery she was, and they deserved it.
And second, the left may have gotten her to quit as governor. Well done. On the other hand, that opened up the opportunity for her to be their very own 24/7/365 personal Excedrin headache...and get paid for it...and get paid more than she’d probably ever made in her life...and have fun doing it. All of which she appears to be doing with great gusto. Not so well done. Perhaps they might have been better off leaving her alone. Oh, well. Too late now.
You’re a disgraceful sourpuss.
You must think it’s funny, or cool to try and damage somebody that speaks on our behalf.
WHY are these vanity posts in ‘News/Activism’?!? Do the FR categories for posting no longer apply here? This should be in ‘Bloggers/Personal’ because this is NOT news.
Palin is awesome.
She has more balls than any other republican.
God bless her.
A humor thread with my morning coffee. My day is off to a good start. :)
Instead of crying over verbiage why not simply tell the truth as to why she left the office.
Of course the Anti-Palinistas have a problem with Sarah Palin because they don't have a firm grasp on reality and especially the reality of politics ... :-)
This was a classic "military maneuver" called a "breakout" by Sarah Palin. And her subsequent success in achieving the "breakout" and fighting the political war that she is currrently winning, shows that "breakout" is the appropriate term.
The liberal leftist forces in this political battle were bringing in their forces, to a little place, out of the way from the rest of the country -- surrounding and encircling Sarah Palin, licking their chops and saying that they "had her cornered now" and they figured they were going in for a "war of attrition" and consume all the remaining reserve of forces in that small and limited area and keep her forces "bottled up".
Sarah Palin, in correctly assessing the political situation and war she had on her hands -- devised a "breakout strategy" and left the liberal leftists standing there, their forces defeated and left "flat-footed" -- scratching their heads and wondering "what happened?" ... LOL ...
Now Sarah Palin has moved from her "breakout maneuver" in Alaska, and on to the prime battleground and is "kicking liberal butt" all over the place now.
So sorry... but you don't know about "breakout maneuvers" and how to engage the enemy forces in the real battles and not sit in backwater locations and fighting a "battle of attrition".
At least Sarah Palin is a whole lot smarter than these "Anti-Palinistas" that we see on this board ... LOL ...
A breakout is a military operation to end a situation of encirclement or siege. It is used in contexts such as: "The British breakout attempt from Normandy".
A breakout is usually done with the encircled forces attacking a weak point in the encirclement, and allied forces attacking the same weak point, until there is a breakthrough and the encircled forces can move through that gap to freedom.
The liberal leftist forces were gathering, and encircling, thinking they had Sarah Palin pinned in and encircled. Sarah Palin fooled them all with her "breakout maneuver" and moved on to the "main battle lines" and is kicking liberal butt all over the place now ... :-)
WHY are these vanity posts in News/Activism?!?
Well, some people here may consider it to be "news" that we have so many Anti-Palinista liberal leftists posting on this board ... LOL ...
My sides!
To all Palinistas, this is something I think you all just will never understand.
Palin critics do not hate Palin anymore than we could hate Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh. But if anyone were to put up posts singing their inevitability in winning a presidential contest, those posts would probably receive the same kind of derision and disbelief you see on “Palin is the Messiah” threads.
The criticism comes because you misrepresent her history and accomplishments in an attempt to hoist her on a pedestal and disregard any legitimate concerns about her viability as a candidate now after her resignation.
Stop with the revisionism and the messiah worship, set aside your delusions about the inevitabilty of her occupying the oval office, and we might all be able to sit down together and praise her for what she is doing NOW and what she may be able to do for us in the future.
Depends on your priorities and motivations. I have absolutely no issue for Sarah choosing the money over the governorship of Alaska. More power to her for that.
I also have no issue with Sarah running for President, good for her!
What I have been saying is that she can't do both. Quiting/resigning as Governor has hurt her chances for being President, thus if she was serious about being President she would not have quit.
Next time before you make such an erroneous assumption regarding how I think you should simply ask for a clarification.
More recently they are going after Tea Party candidates KY Rand Paul(on Rush Monday) and Sharon Angle in NV(on Rush a few minutes ago) . They are characterizing them as right wing crazies to destroy.
But it is fun to watch Sarah go after Obama on drilling and Arizona because the MSM as well as FNC loves it and reports it and puts Obama on the spot when he is already sinking. She is relatively ammunes to all attacks because she is not currently running for office.
Does it really matter if she “quit”?
Palin - 2012
Matters to me.
Point made.
That is why many do not take the most ardent Palin supporters seriously.
