Palin, Don't Let Them Call You Quitter!
vanity

Posted on 06/10/2010 7:26:39 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.

It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.

As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.

While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.

Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.

Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)

You know, they all said the New Orleans Saints quit and gave up after losing the last 3 games of the season and would never win the Super Bowl because no team had ever lost the last 3 games of the season and advanced to the Super Bowl. Well they proved everyone wrong and won the Super Bowl. Never call Palin a quitter and never underestimate her. She is all about strategy.

Don't forget that we also “hate strong women” and are misogynists.

” We should give it to them by stating she “voluntarily discontinued” her gubernatorial responsibilities. Does that sound better? “

Yeah...dats de ticket!

Maybe she could be introduced as “unfired ex-Governor of Alaska”.

Poor analogy. Palin quit her position as Governor. None of the Saints quit their positions as players.

Well they proved everyone wrong and won the Super Bowl.

Good point, however, the Saint didn't send in a cheerleader to quarterback the team.

Palin appears to be good in advancing the conservative cause but that does not necessarily make an executive.

I could have sworn there were emails leaked from somwhere in the UK that exposed the GW fraud. That little fella Chris Horner has just failed to call out crazy Al for all these years.

Yes, he has called out Al, but he looks crappy in a Tee shirt so Al didn’t listen.

“She never balanced a single budget, instead having to draw on reserves to make up for deficits.

More Bob J lies. After Murkowski rang up a 66% increase in state operating and capital spending in 4 years with no significant increase in reserves, Palin reduced spending by 13% in real terms, tripling the reserves to $9 billion and reducing state earmark requests by 80%.

STOP LYING about her spending record Bob. You’ve got a lot of nerve telling anybody about your opinion about Sarah Palin lying.”

Thank you for stepping in here. It’s understandable that the media lies about her, but seeing the same lies on FR is infuriating.

Can we get your “Palin Only - and BTW she’s not a quitter” vanity tomorrow? These are vital contributions to FR.

“and hit with lawsuits”

This is the key point. The Democrats and haters were 0-26 (or more) in their lawsuits, but because Alaskans never assumed people as scummy as the left and never assumed they’d use the lawsuit rules their as a way of bankrupting a politician. I believe Palin had over 500K in legal fees from defending lawsuits that she won over and over again. Given her family’s financial situation they simply couldn’t stay in office.

Not to mention that it was hurting the state.

In any case, her plan was to get off the defensive and go on the attack -which she has done very effectively. I’ve linked to an article I wrote when she resigned. An article that looks pretty good in retrospect:

"... it looks like it may come down to a mediocre one-termer from MA, and a 2/3 termer from AK."

God, I hope not! We need to elect a solid qualified conservative in 2012.

Sarah has such an extensive resume.....

__________________________________________

Sorry, mayor of Tinytown and half a term as Governor is not "an exensive resume" by any real world standard, not for POTUS.

And, the fact is that she did quit. No number of freeper vanities is going to change that fact. It won't go away because it shouldn't. It was a defining moment that she orchestrated by herself.

You were saying ...

Once Palin acts as a catalyst for the ultimate triumph of the GOP winning back one or both houses the quitting meme will receive the burial it deserves.

Very true ... except for "in the minds" of the Anti-Palinistas ... who live in their own virtual reality ... LOL ....

I read somewhere where someone said Sarah is the defacto President now, and I agree....she is the one leading the way on all the important issues, and her humility about her impact on the elections was a demonstration of everything that makes up her character....

There is NO ONE in America better to lead us and undo the criminality done by the Moogly gang than Madam President.

You were saying ...

So she resigned for the money, then. I was not going to make that statement and be attacked for it, but I am glad you were honest about it, here I gave her the benefit of the doubt to allow that she did it to focus on bigger things rather than simply money.

Ahhhh..., I see ... the conservative principle that is operative here -- is to work for nothing (i.e., work for the collective) and write a book and give it away for free (share the wealth with the poor unfortunate liberal leftists) ... LOL ...

It appears you're thinking like a liberal ... :-)
