Palin, Don't Let Them Call You Quitter!
vanity

Posted on 06/10/2010 7:26:39 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.

It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.

As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.

While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.

Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.

Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)

And studies have shown, there have been more clear days since Sarah came along. Grass is growing taller, birds are chirping louder and much more on key. Goats have calmed down and aren’t causing as much trouble.

And sheep, why they’re flocking better than at any time since... well since time began.

It’s just magical.

Bingo.

AND.... I believe that so many conservatives were so very appalled by the Cult Of Obama followers that they were simply in a state of shock to suddenly have someone in the campaign who they liked, who they agreed with, who didn't creep them out ---- but because of their fear & horror of the outrageous libs lead by the likes of The.Tingler & Keither Olbermann & Mrs.Andrea Greenspan, etc. --- that justifiable HORROR propelled them into an overreaction towards Governor Palin who became deified for many.

Anyone happen to know who is advising & mentoring her on foreign affairs and the economy?

TIA

>What I disagree with is that leaving the position as Governor was the best solution.

Maybe. But maybe she thought differently. She’s only human, after all. Also, those ethics charges showed no sign of stopping, if I’m not mistaken.

Yours is a reasonable response, especially compared to the level of anger that any criticism of Sarah usually draws.

Just curious what you thought might have been a better solution for Palin who was looking at two years of lame duck status while being nickle & dimed to death fighting ethics complaints?

Was her replacement an incompetent?

Did leaving early give her replacement a leg up on getting elected?

Where's the downside to her leaving early?

I believe it gave the Democrats a loaded gun to tag her as a quitter, not up for the job.

It is all about perception in the eyes of the middle/undecideds and we need them to win.

Yeah, but I believe that it’s not a impossible hurdle for Sarah to overcome. I suspect that all she really needs to do is to point out the costs to her and her family, and the fact that she had less and less time available to do her job. I’m sure that many people would probably understand.

Democrats: Palin is a quitter

Palin: I resigned my post as governor so I could help take this country back from the brink of socialist disaster. Along the way I decided that my leadership as POTUS would be the best and most effective way to do that. I am now devoting my full attention to that task. Next question.

-btw I notice you didn’t answer my questions above, but thats ok.

btw I notice you didn’t answer my questions above,

You asked four questions, two of which (2 and 3) were essentially loaded questions which you already know the answers to. I chose to answer the fourth question as that was the one I thought most pertinent to the discussion.

As to the first: what should she have done?

1. Not let the Democrats drive her from office.
2. File a counter suit against the woman who was filing all the bogus charges against her (BTW, that woman essentially won,not in the actual complaints, but she drove Sarah from office).
3. Sought additional financial assistance from others to pay her legal bills (her defense fund raised over $100,000 in a fairly short time)

So your position is that the 'best' option for SP was to stay out of the spotlight in Alaska and spend her time in an expensive legal fight with liberal bloggers while relying on the kindness of strangers to fund her efforts even though there was a competent hand picked replacement who could take over her job and immediately benefit from the experience.

Lets weigh that choice against the one she made.

Blogger lawsuits gone? check.

Hand picked replacement doing well? check.

Secured family's financial future? check.

National insurgency to take back America on track? check.

Developing a network of donors/activists/politicans for possible 2012 run? check.

Delivered smackdown to daughters grubby ex-bf? bonus check.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems to me that Palin is miles ahead of where she would be had she chosen to finish her term as Governor. Conservatives should be grateful for her efforts and her willingness to directly take on both the Obama administration goons and the liberal media elites. Do you really disagree?

You have to weigh all the positives that you point out vs. the question:

Did leaving the Governorship of Alaska hurt or help her chances of becoming President?

We do not know her true motivations and we will not know the answer to the above question until Nov. 2012.

Believe me, if she is the Republican candidate, she will get my vote.
