Palin, Don't Let Them Call You Quitter!
vanity

Posted on 06/10/2010 7:26:39 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.

It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.

As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.

While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.

Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.

Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)

“Hell, the novel Atlas Shrugged is full of folks who say “I quit.”

Palin 2012 - “Vote for her ‘cause she’s just like some characters in Atlas Srugged!”

RE :”This is the second vanity post in two days about Palin quitting. What got you all so touchy all of a sudden?

Because if people think she quit as governor they might not vote for her.

But if they knew she really just resigned (SHE DIDN'T QUIT!) to do more important things like go on Hannity’s and Geta’s FNC shows and point out how Obama is doing everything wrong (note that there is a shortage of Republicans willing to do that right now) it will be obvious to everyone how Presidential she looks and she may not even get opposition in 2012 because they will all be scared of her.

“Isn’t this sort of like saying that people who commit
suicide, haven’t really committed suicide, what they have really done is defeat the demons that haunted them?”

I think they prefer the phrase “dismounted from life”.

Mods, you can delete this. I know I was out of line, even though I was right.

How insensitive of me.

Forum participants, what I mean to say was ‘dismounted from life’, not suicide. Please forgive me.

Thank you Bob J.

Larry, I apologize for making fun of you comment, you have always been a stand up guy.

But Palin supporters have to get in the real world. All these fantasies like “she killed the bridge to nowhere”, “she put dozens of corrupt pubbies in jail” and “she reduced earmark requests by 1000% (notice they never mention how much was RECEIVED) about her record are going to come crashing down around them and her if she runs for prez.

I've researched much about Palin and 75% of the claims supporters make can and will be blown out the water by her opponents, the dems or the MSM, and it's going to make them all look foolish.

You were saying ...

Isn’t this sort of like saying that people who commitsuicide, haven’t really committed suicide, what they have really done is defeat the demons that haunted them?

If Sarah Palin wasn't breathing any longer ... you might have a point, there ... LOL ... The thing is -- though -- she's not only breathing, but "breathing fire" now ... :-)

For those who are not familiar with this "battle maneuver" it's called a "breakout" ... and that's what Sarah Palin did, with her excellent political skills -- fooled the liberal leftists who thought they had her "bottled up" and "encircled". They thought they were on a "battle of attrition" at that point.

Palin fooled them all (including the Anti-Palinistas here... LOL ...) and did a maneuver similar to a military breakout, and moved her forces to the main battle lines in the U.S. and started kicking liberal butt, up and down, all over the place.

That doesn't sound like suicide to me ... :-)

General Custer should have had as loyal a post victory following. He coulda been president.

He could have -- if -- he had done a military breakout maneuver like Palin did -- and then started kicking Indian butt all over the place.

Instead, Custer "stood in place" and allowed the "Indian encirclement" to work and he lost by attrition. At least Palin was smarter than Custer was ... :-)

I have always loved documentaries and drama's on Hitler's last days and afterward (WWII in general) and in 1945 Stalin ordered Hitlers remains hidden and created the myth that he was still alive. This probably was to keep the allies in check while the cold war heated up and many German scientists were recruited by the US.
Even as late as the 1960s there was a mythology that Hitler was still alive in Argentina saved by a german U-boat, as with Martin Borrman. Meanwhile a few survivers from the Bunker made it to the West to tell the true story of his death.

The complete story came out after the cold war ended and a piece of Hitlers skull with a bullet hole was saved in the USSR that still exists.

You just don’t get it. We all love the stuff she has done, we just don’t believe she is electable and more importantly that has has what it takes to be president.

I love Ann Coulter, but she will ALSO never be president.

I mean “ Death Panels ” which killed the Obama-care bill.

This passed. I don’t think she stopped this bill from passing. She did bring awareness to “Death Panels” but she did not stop anything.

Star Traveler, she is backing Chief Johnny McCain and his band of renegades.

I don’t call that Break-out. I recognize it as broken.

My apologies also. I don’t care for adulation for any candidate. But I would like to see the circular firing squads tone down a bit too. Maybe use paintballs instead of real bullets....

Naps, for Palinistas time froze when Palin wrote that phrase on her Facebook account...anything after is meaningless because it simply doesn’t add glory to her messiahdom.

This is their mindset.

Some of these "Anti-Palinistas" would never make it in a real military battle, much less any political one ... LOL ...

Instead of "Blitzkrieg" ... bypassing small and inconsequential enclaves of opposition and "going for the goalposts" -- these Anti-Palinistas would have Palin sit there and slug it out, hit-for-hit on some small and obscure out of the way place, as if that was accomplishing something. What a bunch of "dolts" these Anti-Palinistas are.

Instead, Sarah Palin did a classic "breakout maneuver" and left that inconsequential battle behind -- to engage in the real battle for this country, "going for the jugular" and going after the "big boys" -- and not engaging with some "no-name loser leftists" in a place that hardly anyone would pay any attention to in a useless "war of attrition".

At least Palin is a whole lot smarter than these Anti-Palinistas are ... :-)

Well, FR is more an academic excercise but if they can’t knock down or convince other conservatives on this site what chance do they have in a REAL campaign?

I voted for the same guy and Palin -- for the GOP ticket -- but I do understand that some FReepers, here, wear it as a "badge of honor" that they did not vote for McCain in that election (so Obama could get the election, instead, doncha know ... LOL ...).
