Rabbis: Flotilla Clash Heralds Gog and Magog Prophecy

Thursday in which it said that the results of the incident in which Israel intercepted a flotilla trying to break the naval blockade of Gaza "place us at the beginning of the Gog and Magog process where the world is against us, but which ends with the third and final redemption."
The statement explained that while secular Zionism always wants Israel to be beloved by other nations, “the legitimacy of our people is not derived from the nations of the world and their poisonous traditions, rather from the Torah of Israel which teaches us that [Israel] 'is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations'" (Numbers 23:9).
The council blessed the soldiers of the IDF and called for the formation of an emergency unity government that will bring about the salvation promised by G-d.

I look at it kind of like the labor before the birth. You know generally when it’s time but you don’t know if this or that pain is just a twinge, false labor, or labor that results in the birth. I’m doing what I can in this world to treat this as a twinge that we fight through so the rest of the wait can be comfortable. But I’m watching because this could be the final delivery. If so, there will be a lot of pain first, and my family and I need to be prepared for the fiery ordeal that leads to the full delivery.
It’s really in the Lord’s hands. If the world is to go on and my kids have a future I can live with that. If it gets bad but we know the deliverance is near, I can live with that. The harder thing would be to think that there would be extreme suffering that doesn’t end in deliverance. I guess ultimately we’re delivered at death also so our suffering always ends in deliverance. It’s just hard to know whether to invest in this world when you don’t know if it’s on the way out.
My husband and children are all Christian and faithful in studying the Word so I know we’ll be protected spiritually. I’ve been working hard on the issue of the lawlessness I see. Where lawlessness abounds, love grows cold, hearts grow hard, and minds close shut. Giving in to the lawlessness is like letting the weeds take over the field. You can’t get a good, healthy crop that way. So if people are going to be saved we’re gonna have to pull the weeds.
There will be a time when people CANNOT believe. The progression into depravity will be complete and the hardness of heart will ensnare everyone who doesn’t yet believe. I don’t know when that time will be here, or if it’s here already, so I just have to keep on trying to pull weeds and sow seeds wherever possible. The rest is in the Lord’s hands.

Fools for knowing what has been prophesied WILL take place?Was Hal Lindsay a fool when he made his earlier predictions? He himself said we should consider him such if they did not take place, and they didn't. How are you different?
And knowing things are in place and to be living in expectation of His return?
Knowing something and thinking you know something are two different things.
Only a non believer could have that attitude, IMO.

I’m just curious why you think this should be relegated to the closet down the hall?Because it's the latest in a long, long line of "the end is near" predictions. All such predictions have been wrong in the last 1,900-plus years; I see no reason to think this one is any different. All of the date-setters and sign-seers had their reasons, and all of them thought, "this time is different." Well, this time isn't different.

Nothing like being psychoanalyzed because you disagree. It's not that I can't grasp the "significance" - it's that I think it's total bunk. As for it making me "uncomfortable"? Hardly - though I think my dissenting opinion may make a few others on this board uncomfortable. Oh well - like I told another poster, if you don't want dissent and ridicule, post it in the religion forum.
