The Obama Administration has pressured Israel not to build in Jerusalem, their own capital city. How would we feel, if we were told not to build in Washington DC? Israel has been forced to accept a 2 state solution in the West Bank, despite the fact that Israeli voters supported political parties which reject a Palestinian state on Israeli territory. America's support for Israel is a two-edged sword.
About a month ago, I received a book on Israeli history as a gift. It says that Israel was established in 1948, with official recognition from the UN and the US. But Israel was attacked by 5 Arab armies, soon after it declared Independence. Unbelievably, the UN imposed an arms embargo, which denied Israel the arms it needed to defend itself. But the Arabs received huge quantities of arms during the conflict. Israel fought its war of Independence, with one arm tied behind its back.
Instead of helping Israel, a nation that was created by a UN resolution, the world sat back, expecting Israel to be defeated, and the Jews to be exterminated. This was only 3 years after the Holocaust, when the crimes of the Nazis were still fresh in everyone's minds, which shows that nobody learnt anything from the Holocaust.
In their desperate efforts to defend their country, Israel lost 1 percent of their citizens, but were able to defend their independence. But the arms embargo weakened Israel and prevented it from uniting Jerusalem when the war ended in 1949.
In 1954, Gamal Abdel Nasser came to power in Egypt, and inaugurated the modern era of terrorism against Israel. He then nationalized the Suez Canal, which angered its British and French shareholders. In 1956, Britain, France and Israel formed an alliance, that was intended to remove Nasser from power. But the Eisenhower administration in the US intervened and saved Nasser. If Nasser had been taken out in 1956, Israel would not have needed to fight wars in 1967 and 1973.
When Israel defended itself in 1967, it was so loudly denounced by the world, that it afraid of taking tough measures that would assure its self-defense. This opened the way for the 1973 war, which killed 2,000 Israelis. In 1982, the Reagan administration prevented Ariel Sharon from taking out Yasser Arafat, during the Lebanon war. In fact, America saved Arafat's butt, by rescuing Arafat from Sharon in Beirut. This foreign interference helped to prolong the Lebanon war, and cost unneccessary Israeli lives.
If Israel was completely unleashed against its enemies, without being restrained by America, Israel can put the terrorists out of business. The Palestinian problem would have been solved a long time ago, if America had allowed Israel to transfer the Palestinians to Jordan, where they could have formed their own state if they had wanted to.
For the few Israeli freepers who post here. You should do what you think is in your own national interests, and not allow America to interfere in your affairs. America has no right to prevent you from building in your own capital city.
Yep, one of the oldest civilizations around. A better question is “Can the USA survive without them?”
It not only can, it will.
That was going to be MY response -
can the USA survive without God’s blessing?
The answer is no.
can the USA survive without Gods blessing?
The answer is no.
Exactly!
If you believe that Israel’s rebirth was a bibical event, as I do, then the answer is yes, it can.
At this point Israel is far better off without the United States. Our government insists upon aiding and abetting the enemy, while abandoning our friends.
Wish there was some way to dump this sorry-azz president before 2012.
Have believed for decades that God was going to insure that
HE ALONE
was going to be Israel’s defender and provider.
However, woe to us for any forsaking her that we do. The Bible is clear about that.
A better question would be , can America, as we know it, survive without Israel?
>>>can the USA survive without Gods blessing? The answer is no
What is amazing, is that the American government prosecuted some Americans who tried to smuggle arms to help the Israelis in 1948. America did not lift a finger to help Israel in the most important war that they fought for their survival. America should now stay out of Israel’s way, when it decides how to handle the Jerusalem issue, or deal with terrorists.
I feel that under the current administration if Israel was to cast off its ties with the US and start clearing out their terrorist disease, they would be attacked by us.
Obama has shown a clear prejudice towards the Arabs, where Bush was only slanting 45/55 towards the Muslims. I think that whomever is in power now, probably Soros and his affiliations are definitely anti Israeli and anti US.
When you are watching Fox evening news, keep my opinions in mind and I’ll bet within 30 days you’ll agree.
The problem is when Israel ignores U.S. continued view of how Israel is to respond and operate, which they do what has to be done, when necessary .. is that the United States of America says to them we will not sell you planes, armaments, parts to maintain the current weapons already in Israel’s hands.
Shame on America. How prejudice we are as to Israel, and how determined we are to cause them more losses in their own land.
Satan is at work in this process as in our own government leaders at this time.
God will perserve Israel, and defend her. She has already experienced miracles in withstanding the enemiems that have attacked them again and again. Israel is secular in the majority. They still fail to see the hand of God protecting them. They bring musch upon theirselves by failure to turn to God. Yes, there are a few who do calll on God. Jesus Christ is not accepted by Israel and they are not readers of the New Testament. There are a few Messianic Jews in Israel.
God bless Israel and her stiffnecked ways, Touch the hearts of the Isaraeli people. Bring them close to You LORD, in the name of Jesus, amen
Gen 12:3 - "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curseth thee..."
I've read numerous scriptures about Israel in the last days...and into eternity. I've yet to read anything about the US...and I'm beginning to know why...
78% of (liberal) American Jews voted for Hussein. They still love him. Israel has Bibi so they will be fine.
Yes, Israel can survive. It is America that I am worried about.
Sometimes I have thought thta I would actually feel safer living in Israel now, because there, you know where your enemies are, and that is OUTSIDE of your civilization. The same cannot be said for America.
The other thing is that Bibi loves his country. You can see that all over him. Obama hates America, and you can see it all over him and his angry, ugly wife.
Yes it can. But, our presence is stabilizing in that we scare the Middle Eastern Countries to death. Without us, Israel will be invaded ... and the Middle East will become a wasteland very quickly.
Israel will prevail with or without us, but many more will die if we throw Israel to the wolves.

Genesis 12:3 states that “I will bless those who bless you and curse those that curse you.” The US was a blessed nation when we supported Israel. I believe that G-d’s blessing on the US has been rescinded and the curse is just around the corner. I’ve read the last book of the Christian Bible and Israel is the last man standing.
Personally I pray daily for the peace of Jerusalem and have shifted my investments around to Israeli high tech companies. At my age I can’t do much more than that.
Israel will survive with or without the US.
The United States has been a phenomenally powerful and somewhat reliable ally for Israel over the past 60+ years. Fortunately, Israel has dramatically more powerful and far more reliable ally. If it comes down to the United States, led by Obama, on one side, and God on the other side backing Israel, I won’t need much time to choose. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
My first reaction to your title was “Can Israel survive in Spite of the US”? The USA may not survive if Israel fails, but it won’t. I have it on good authority. ;-)
guess they’ll have to get along without us.
Then again, it may be a putup, so the U.S. is not seen as green lighting the destruction of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
