TAMPA - Several political blogs are reporting that the city of Tampa will be chosen to host the 2012 Republican National Convention.
The RNC has not made it official yet, as the vote and subsequent announcement is scheduled for Wednesday.
The Atlantic, a monthly political magazine, says Tampa has a 90 percent chance of winning the bid.
Tampa is up against Phoenix, Ariz. and Salt Lake City, Utah. Online outlets say Phoenix will likely lose the bid because of the recent heat Arizona has been getting for their newly passed immigration law. Local news reports from Salt Lake City are also pointing to Tampa as the winner.

Fitting. Go to the place where local Republican officials brought about the judicial murder of Terri Schindler Schiavo. Have a party! Yay!
I vote for Tampa, of course I live in Tampa.
Jeb Bush accepts the coronation...err...nomination...
What a time our gang will have there!!!

Eh, you might want to try again sport.
My vote is for Tampa. (Not that it counts.)
Arizona and Salt Lake are much redder than FL. But they’re going to find it’s pretty darn hot and rainy here in FL in August.
If it’s true, I’m happy—I’m going to volunteer!
Can you point to another Bushie in Pinellas County who had more local political pull than Judge Greer?
Me too. The RNC should announce they are going to chose Phoenix as a sign of support for the legislation they just passed.
Because we don’t need that lying whore.
We should do the blowout at Berns Steakhouse or the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor.
That heinous debacle was actually perpetrated in Pinellas County, not Hillsborough(Tampa).
Not that the distinction matters much.
But for those of us who care/cared, I suggest we maintain our focus on 2010, and deal with potential political showboating in 2012 when and/or/if they really happen.
I vote for Phoenix.
Amazing at the strange connections people will make up.
Phoenix would be fitting but I doubt it will happen. That would take too much strength.
Tampa is a wonderful city. We went down for the Outback Bowl and the people are wonderful and the food is great. We are at the Columbia and the food was some of the best we had ever had.
The Columbia was wonderful. The staff could not have been nicer. I loved the tiles on the front which I was told were imported from Spain.
Hey! Great to hear from you!!!!!!
Both very pricey, but it only comes along once every ? years! OK! I prefer the Columbia or Texas Cattle Company in Lakeland.
I find it amazing how it appears that so very many people are seemingly unable to connect such obviously related “dots”!
I live near Tampa. Have for a couple of decades.
Crist is at best a RINO,(OBVIOUSLY) and I refused to vote his sorry ass into his current position.
Amazing that anyone on this forum would support him in any way.
