Looks like we are gonna be stuck with Coats in IN on the Senate side. Horrible.

In IN08 Risk holds 28.7%-28.6% lead over Larry Bucshon, the NRCC/Tea Party favorite, with 1/3 of precincts reporting.

No votes from Evansville in yet, where Bucshon is expected to clean Risk’s clock.

Thanks for getting the thread up. The report below is not very encouraging. I was hoping that at least the Tea Party crowd would be ginned up enough to get out and vote. A 12% turnout is abysmal. Have people already forgotten about the health care vote? If conservatives would really come out in droves for these early primaries, it would scare the pants off Democrats. With a turnout like this, Democrats must be breathing big sighs of relief.

Polls close in NC as turnout disappoints; candidates await results for Senate, Congress

Indiana, NC, Ohio choose party nominees

By LIZ SIDOTI and DEANNA MARTIN (AP) – 1 hour ago

INDIANAPOLIS — Former Sen. Dan Coats, the Washington establishment's favored Republican, opened up a comfortable early lead in the GOP primary in Indiana on Tuesday and voters in North Carolina and Ohio made their choices in House and Senate primaries.

With scattered votes from a third of Indiana's counties, Coats inched ahead of state Sen. Marlin Stutzman, a tea party favorite, and former Rep. John Hostettler. Democrat Brad Ellsworth's nomination is assured. The candidates are seeking retiring Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh's seat.

Turnout was exceptionally light in Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina, a possible indication that the anger fueling voters across the country over economic woes and persistently high unemployment wasn't translating into votes — and, perhaps, the limited influence of the conservatives and libertarians who make up the fledgling tea party coalition.
