70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation signed into law on Friday. But, not Al Franken or Barack Obama. And, New York City’s Al Franken says he’s ready to organize protests and commit civil disobedience over the new Arizona immigration law. The New York Post reported, via Free Republic:
The Rev. Al Sharpton says he will challenge Arizona’s new immigration bill in court and on the streets.
Sharpton is joining Lillian Rodriguez Lopez from the Hispanic Federation to announce a legal challenge to the bill. They say activists are also prepared to commit civil disobedience to fight the Arizona immigration bill.

What right does he have to go to another state and incite violence? He doesn’t live there, he has no “interest” in the state, he’s not an attorney, he has no authority or standing. Gov. Brewer should be waiting at the border with an arrest warrant for him (or anyone else who threatens violence) with Sheriff Joe — and an extra-large paddy wagon — right behind her.

This has to be a brain freeze on the author's part. If Franken were to organize protests, as a sitting Senator that would be grounds for impeachment. A Senator's job is to craft legislation and vote up or down. It is not to take to the streets to overturn a vote that didn't go his way.
I'm sure he meant to say Al Sharpton.

Young black males are hurt the most by illegal immigration. And union construction workers of all races, creeds and color are hurt by illegal immigration as well.
But guys like Sharpton live on the perception that it is "The Man" that is keeping down "his people". Well, Obama is "The Man" and if he doesn't do something about the illegal immigrant problem, "his people" are going to continue to be oppressed by poverty and unemployment.
