PORTLAND -- A state board will investigate whether a Beaverton teacher was on his own time or using state resources while he organized liberals to crash Oregon tea parties.
On Thursday, Jason Levin was put on paid leave by the Beaverton School District.
Levin has gotten national attention for a "Crash the Tea Party" Web site that called for opponents to infiltrate the events and behave outlandishly. That raised suspicion he was doing political work during schools hours.
Beaverton School District spokeswoman Maureen Wheeler confirmed Levin was placed on paid administrative leave as of Thursday while they conduct an internal investigation into his actions during work time.
When asked for what reasons, she said we all know what it is."
The Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission opened an investigation Wednesday.
Jason Levin holds up a shirt he was going to wear to blend in with Tea Party members during the movement's protest on Tax Day, but after his face was posted on the Internet he had to shelve his planned appearance.
PING. But typical. When he returns to school he will be hailed as a hero unless some parents grow up and be parents. This school needs to get the message parents/tax payers will not abide overt political displays in the schools or its curriculum—or the use of school property for partisan political agendas.
Anybody wanna bet that will happen?
That is interesting. Do you have any evidence for that? TIA.
I don’t think it’s crashed, he’s removed everything except the background. He’s fearing for his job and removed any possible evidence of wrongdoing.
If ya read this guy’s “manifesto,” he’s more than halfway to the Tea Party himself. He’s sort of a confused Left-Libertarian, who doesn’t understand that “Health Care is right” violates Constitutional and ethical principles against involuntary servitude and takings.
He didn’t need to infiltrate. He needed an invitation!
Wow. Did this so-called teacher really threaten to sodomize children?
I wonder if that T-Shirt of his has names of the other 7 mystery states in it?
>>His web site has crashed!

It is up, he has taken the content down himself ....
T-Baggers vs. D-Baggers...
Jason’s a teacher. Why am I not surprised?
Beaverton? I don’t think Jason’s ever been to Beaverton...know what I mean?
Looks like he’s trying to make himself out to be a victim. The link takes you to a page that says:”Want to Show your support for Jason Levin?
BUY A TEA-SHIRT:”
Apparently he feel’s a need to rake in some additional finances at this point.
THere is a procedure that needs to be followed.
They didn’t put him out if they didn’t think they had the goods on him.
Somebody needs to explain to the commies that if they keep looking for a fight-they’re going to get one.
Red Dawn this ain’t.
I love the smell of schadenfreude in the evening. It smells like...freedom!
Wow sounds like it was a horrible website..
With teachers like these....
LOL!
I hope he listened to Rush and used Carbonite!
