Mike Huckabee, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2012 says the effort to allow gays and lesbians to marry is comparable to legalizing incest, polygamy and drug use...

Huckabee told the interviewer that not every group's interests deserve to be accomodated if their lifestyle is outside what he called "the ideal."...

"There are some people who believe in incest, so we should accomodate them. There are people who believe in polygamy, should we accomodate them?" he said.

Yes sometimes...either in its serial mode in judaeo Christian secularized societies or in its concurrent form more in mohamedan and animist ones.

You're missing the point. The pro-gay marriage crowd uses the “consenting individuals” angle to push gay marriage. Well, an adult father and daughter can be consenting individuals. An adult male and several women can be consenting individuals. But and animal doesn't have the ability to consent so bestiality is not an equal comparison.

There were no wars attached to Mormon polygamy. It was quite practical for the 50 years or so it was practiced. There were more female converts than male. The Mormon population was isolated in Utah. It was a convenient way to provide security for unattached females.
