Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, one of the top Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Monday morning that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been mentioned as a possible nominee to the Supreme Court.
"I even heard the name Hillary Clinton today, and that would be an interesting person in the mix," Hatch said on NBC's "Today Show."
The senator said he would not pre-judge whether any potential nominee would be an appropriate candidate to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens, but he had general praise for the secretary of state.
"I happen to like Hillary Clinton, I think she's done agood job for the Democrats -- Secretary of State's position," Hatch said, "and I have high respect for her, and think a great deal of her."
Hatch said the confirmation process for President Obama's nominee could go smoothly.
"If the president picks somebody who is clearly qualified, there is no question we can get that person through in a relatively short period of time," he said. "On the other hand, if he picks an activist judge... we ought to do everything in our power to defeat that person."
The short list of potential nominees is said to include Federal Appellate Judge Diane Wood, Solicitor General Elena Kagan and Federal Judge Merrick Garland.

NO distinction is made by the MSM. This is the same MSM which never hesitates to editorialize (in the most biased way possible) on the character or careers of Liberal public figures.
Meant: CONSERVATIVE public figures
Any Mormons out there ready to ditch him?
agree
What a dumb idea.
Do you remember when she was the most hated woman in America
Good PR, bad person with bad morals.
$100,000 profit on $1,000 investment made with insider friends, which she lied about over and over after being caught, doesnt tell you something ....?
Repossessing crappy Whitewater land over and over from Granny and Grandpa for being ONE MONTH LATE ON ONE PAYMENT doesnt tell you anything.?
Carpetbagger who stole White House furniture by the van load... liar, cheat ...
Sorry, I cant go on.
Exactly right. Warren has been willing to go along to get along for decades. It’s people like him who have made what is taking place today possible. Look at John MeCain right now. He’s been a sell-out for as long as he has been in Washington. Sadly, some folks are convinced he’s a war hero and beyond criticism. Who cares if he and Soros, Teressa Heinz Kerry, the Tides foundation and the worst of the worst in Congress have been on the same page with all the bills he has introduced in the Senate.
With sleepers on the inside, it’s no wonder our cause languishes. And our cause is maintaining this nation, make no mistake about it.
The Supreme Court is no place for a clinical psychopath.
and not with a broom and dustpan - but with skip loaders and dump trucks...
I all but literally shoved my niece out the door yesterday when she proceeded to tell me the main reason she voted obyummer was the VP picks: "Sarah Palin has no experience and she's stupid but Biden has all those years of experience in Washington."
Thank God all my own children and grandchildren are staunch Conservatives. My niece and her sister - due to their mother's side - are the only uber libs in the family I have to deal with. but it's becoming increasingly difficult to a point where I am weaning face to face time with them. Not worth the effort.
Fight? LMAO, you just defended Hatch. So what’s to fight for if your attitude is what you just demonstrated it to be?
Hatch just named the worst person possible as a candidate for the position, and the best you can do is defend him for being pragmatic.
No, he’s a loose cannon with a mouth that he can’t keep under control in important situations. He’s a jackass, and there is no defense of pricks like this.
Hatch is an old time republican sell-out. Of course he likes that commie, Hillary Clinton.

WTF? Throw them all out. Every single one of them and start over. TERM LIMITS!!!!!!!

and after she got into college and succumbed to the disease of liberalism/progressivism.
College in the USA=indocrination camps.
The surest way to get the Senate to okay your nominee is to choose a former senator. They protect those who are in “the club” as if it were the Skull and Bones.
Further, if Hillary joins the SCOTUS, she’s most likely to either retire 10-12 years later out of boredom. She’s not known to long-term job commitments.
It would also be a great move for Obama since it will surely remove any chance of an intraparty primary challenge, assuring that he can hode his 2012 campaign funds for the general election.
And it will appeal to Hillary’s immense ego which, IMO, aspires to have a stronger political legacy than her husband. After all, which title is more impressive - President of the United States or United States Supreme Court Justice?
If she gets this then Bill will become more interested in being UN Secretary General.
The Deal !!
“I happen to like Hillary Clinton, I think she’s done agood job for the Democrats — Secretary of State’s position,” Hatch said, “and I have high respect for her, and think a great deal of her.”
Orrin Hatch, another brainless wimp and a good reason by the GOP never can get any footing when dealing with the insidious Bolsheviks of the left.
Hatch is only concerned with presenting his “good guy” image.
He and Grassley are two old book-end fossils who need to be flushed, along with any other Republican who thinks they can work with globalist Bolsheviks.
I agree with you on most of your points. We had a majority at one time and look at what “W”e did with it.
Won’t happen. Clinton isn’t radical enough for Obama to put her on the court.
Crazy Hatch! Of all people to suggest!
