Please check out the provision for a Commissioned Corps and Ready Reserve Corps. in the healthcare bill. I don't know what it has to do with healthcare but it sounds an awful lot like Obama just got his own personal militia.

Is there something between pages 1312-1315 which states that members of this corps are to be trained medical personnel only and that they'll only be utilized in health emergencies exclusively?

42 U.S.C. § 209 says that officers may only be appointed after examinations in "medicine, dentistry, hygiene, sanitary engineering, pharmacy, psychology, nursing, or related scientific specialties in the field of public health."

OH my GOD! It’s here people! Why would a “Reserve Corps” be needed for “emergencies” in a HEALTH CARE BILL!!

Oh my God, this is the exact ‘near impossible’ dilemna I brought up in civics class. About what would happen if Congress DIDN’T read a bill and he said it would take people willing to sign a law in BOTH House and Senate AND a complicit President and the odds were a million to one.

Per P1314 they will need to:

“...be available and ready for INVOLUNTARY calls to active duty during national emergencies and public health crises; similar to the uniformed service reserve personnel...”

Actually I think they are beating us on several fronts.
We need to focus but they have an army already working all the aspects. There is the media spinning and then the financial situation - the stock market in 08, etc.

We need to get more organized in terms of plans to defend and preserve and I don’t mean by force necessarily.
Local Tea party groups come to mind because eventually the Internet will be gone.

It’s nothing more than an addition to the Public Health Service, which has been around since 1798 and has been a uniformed service for over a century. It is headed by the Surgeon General, which is why he wears a uniform.

The worst thing that will come of this is that it is a waste of money, and compared to the rest of the bill, it is a relatively minor waste of money at that.
