"Please God tell that's true. If not I will be moving to a state that believes in true freedom."I live in TX, and I say God Bless the Republic of Texas, however, Oklahoma has an excellent attitude and the two absolutely best Senators in the nation.

Anywhere but the liberal enclave of Austin. Far West Texas is also to be avoided, unless you like driving 100+miles to the nearest Walmart or doctor’s office.

Depends on what you like. The gulf coast has good fishing, but it's NOT like California beaches. Metroplex is good for business, but flat. Austin is good, but the liberal heart of the state. San Antonio and south is heavily hispanic. Good people, but not a lot of money, although San Antonio has a booming tourist industry. West Texas is very isolated. HS football teams travel 100 miles to play games. Panhandle is colder, and mostly agriculture and oil. Waco area (central Texas) is fairly cheap and has some pretty country. College station is Aggieland. Lotsa money around there, but you'd better love maroon and white. There's a line that runs down I-35. East of that is more like the old south, west is more like the west. Texas is like five different states. Just remember, though,
God Blessed Texas!

If 38 state legislatures are concerned, that’s enough to ratify a Constitutional Amendment. Perhaps that is the correct course of action?

I was a delegate to the Harris County Senatorial Convention yesterday and AG Abbott addressed us via video and said he would sue the federal government if this thing passes.
It got a standing ovation from us.
I guess he meant it.

Any state can leave if the feds violate the Constitution that the states joined under. I’m a lifelong resident of Texas, and we’d just like to be first!!

I hope and pray that somehow California can be involved in this. I know, this state sucks ass but maybe there is still hope..I don’t want Government Run Health Care..I will leave the damn state if that is what it takes
To: battletank; Sophia777
To paraphrase
Under the US Constitution - powers not specifically granted to the Federal government by the states are “reserved” to the states “and the people”
There are various grounds as to why obama-care could be ruled by the Supreme Ct to be unconstitutional
One key element is the “commerce clause” that the feds use to ram down edicts - in this instance under obama0care they are attempting to require by law that every citizen must purchase a “private’ health insurance policy (ones that only they rule as “acceptable”)
Failure to buy such am “gov’t approved” policy under obama-care will result in the IRS imposing on individuals and families an annual fine of up to $2,250 or 2% of your income (which ever is greater)
Also under obama-care, insuring the “poor” is accomplished by forcing states to enroll millions more new people into state taxpayer funded “Medicaid” - adding 100s of millions in unfunded state mandates to taxpayers - again unconstitutional
Greg Abbott and other state AGs plan to sue the Federal Gov’t in Federal Ct - ultimately to be ruled on by the Supreme Ct as to the constitutionality of obamacare

Agreed. I’m proud of the Okies for electing such strong Senators. Now if other states would follow suit.

I don’t care about California beaches. I live near Lake Tahoe in the Sierras. Old gold miner/cowboy/timber country. I think West Texas would be a little too isolated for me. I like a four-season climate. Agricultural is fine. I love the South.
