An attempt late Friday by Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Michigan Democrat, to change abortion language in President Obamas health care bill riled pro-choice lawmakers who vowed not to allow the revision.
The move by Stupak, who holds a crucial bloc of Democratic votes that if released would clear the way for the health bill, threw Capitol Hill into confusion late Friday, less than two days before the House is set to vote on the landmark legislation.
Stupak, leaving the Capitol, said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosis willingness to talk to him about his idea shows Democrats dont have the votes, or they wouldnt be talking to me, he said in an interview with The Hills Molly Hooper.

Very interesting
As always, watch what they do- not listen to what they say.
maybe its time to hit Stupak with a barrage of “Hang in there! You are a patriot.”
Pretty simple - if Stupak stays firm, we win. If not, we lose.
I suggest continued prayer. The Lord changes hearts.
Sure she would talk if it meant getting votes that would let others who are in danger of losing off the hook.
Too bad Stupak doesn’t challenge the premise of government-run healthcare instead of merely opposing it because of abortion funding. But if he can throw a wrench into the bill, then more power to him, although I’m not going to hold my breath.
I do believe it might be an uphill battle for the other side at this point.
Hey Stupak, they were willing to toss you aside when it seemed they had the votes, why would you give them the time of day now??
Stupak will cave... there are no moderate democrats...mdinos
Dear Mr. Congressman,
Remember your conscience and your values on this one.
hopefully, Boeehner and the gang have met with Stupak and said, we’ll work with you next year on a completely different reform, and one that fully values life. If they have not, the what the f is going on.
However, he will make a pro-life deal if he can. But a deal means the thing has got to go back to the Senate first...anathema for the White House.
I recall Stupak taking considerable flack from some here on FR when he initially proposed the 'Stupid amendment', but that criticism failed to anticipate that pro-death die hards wouldn't tolerate pro-life language in 'their' bill!!!
LOL -- folly for THEM (the pro-death dems).

Doesn’t Stupak have a presser scheduled in the morning at 10AM? If so, bottom of the ninth with bases loaded.
I see the awesome power of Almighty God here. The killing of the unborn is a blasphemy of God and damnation the entire country. This righteous man stands in the gap. God has chosen him and his courageous wife to be his weapon to crush this evil on earth and to teach these sinners that Jesus in Lord not that liar obama who will go down in flames into the firey pit of HELL. DON’T MURDER BABIES!!! Watch this .
I don’t get it. If there is no government funding of abortion like they claim, why all the fighting over it? Stupak is an idiot if he votes for this thing a second time after getting screwed the first. Fool me once....
