maybe its time to hit Stupak with a barrage of “Hang in there! You are a patriot.”
hopefully, Boeehner and the gang have met with Stupak and said, we’ll work with you next year on a completely different reform, and one that fully values life. If they have not, the what the f is going on.
I, for one, have been doing just that. His staff was grateful for the show of appreciation. I called his Michigan district offices. Being a daughter of Michigan, it was an easy call, made from the heart. When I heard how he'd been getting threats and his family was being harassed, I let his staff know that this was never, never acceptable.
I did the same with Rep. Lynch when he called out Queen Nancy on the ugly politics. These guys are taking a lot of heat from their party, and should be supported.
The DC and state-level office personnel are taking a huge volume of calls, and yet I have yet to find a single one who was less than courteous and patient with my calls. I find that interesting. Perhaps there is less support for this monstrosity within even the House office personnel than one might think. Keep it up folks, we're having an impact on America.
Yes.
I may not agree with Stupak on many other things, but he has been a brave soul in standing firm on this issue, and he deserves our support. He is, so far, a national hero.
Freepers, please tell him how you feel. Encourage him. The pressure on him to cave must be tremendous.
Be careful. Stupak is not looking for a way to stop this, he is looking for a way to pass it. Don’t be surprised if he ends up being the Democrat hero.
The hope is that the other factions - pro-abortion and pro-public option - who have already voiced objections to Stupak’s amendment and demanded one for their own interests, will torpedo this thing. In the end, defeating this will come down to luck more than anything. There is not a democrat in office who will vote against socialized medicine on any kind of principle. They might vote against it out of spite.
