FInally! Contract with America 2010!
Joseph Tatner ^ | 03/04/2010 | Joseph Tatner

Posted on 03/04/2010 10:33:48 AM PST by JosephTatner

Tired of waiting for my Party to create a new Contract with America for today's issues, I finally wrote it myself -- just as Newt Gingrich did when he first ran for Congress. I am a solid Constitutional Conservative Republican running for Congress in Nevada CD1. After speaking out all year and helping to drive hundreds of conservatives to the Clark County Republican Party, I finally announced my own candidacy for the toughest race in the state. With strong Grass Roots support and involvement with the TEA Party movement from the very beginning, I realized I could use my position to call all Republican leaders back to the principles of our own platform and the Constitution.

My Contract with America 2010 consists of 7 Principles and will be accompanied by 10 proposed pieces of legislation. I hope to receive suggestions from sitting Conservative Republican members of the House and Senate on legislation that has been blocked so far by Democrats, but I have also included the Balanced Budget Amendment from the original contract as well as legislation I have written ending automatic citizenship for children born to illegals, repeal the Tip Tax and Inheritance Tax, etc.

The 7 Principles are based on issues that the American People agree with us on 70 - 80%. That's a LOT of Republicans, Democrats and Independents and they are all Conservative in nature.

1) SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE U.S. CONSTITUTION against all enemies foreign and domestic.
2) NATIONAL SECURITY: win the war against terrorists who have declared war on the United States.
3) FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: reduce government spending and repeal failed bailouts.
4) LOWER TAXES: unleash the free market economy to increase jobs.
5) ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: streamline the immigration bureaucracy to support LEGAL immigrants and end the free flow of ILLEGAL immigrants.
6) ENERGY INDEPENDENCE: use all of America's available, untapped resources.
7) 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS: every government has the right to arm itself and in America, the People are the government.

The full text and proposed legislation can be viewed online at http://tatner.com/articles/contract.pdf

These are indeed alarming times, and we need to make a bold statement to define ourselves that even our elected leaders cannot ignore. Sadly, too many Republican leaders haven't understood that when you reach out halfway to the Democrats, you move halfway towards Socialism and halfway away from the Constitution. To many baby steps like this over the past 30 years since Ronald Reagan are what have emboldened the Democrat leaders who have be completely taken over by outspoken Marxists, Maoists and Socialists. As Americans, and especially as elected leaders, we must be just as outspoken for our principles based on the teachings of the Founding Fathers.

I am a loud voice for Conservatism and I am a proud Republican. We have nothing to be shy or fearful about. Republicans are the Party that freed the slaves, promoted Civil Rights, and reversed the devastation to the economy caused by Jimmy Carter. We can take back our country and restore America's prosperity, but we need YOUR help.

Remember, your Vote is your WEAPON in the war against Socialism!

"These are indeed alarming times, and we need to make a bold statement to define ourselves..."
What I find most alarming is that these are considered bold statements in this day and age.
Anyone with a grasp of the Constitution, economics and history should perceive these principles as common sense.
Good luck and best wishes to you.
Keep fighting the good fight!

FIFTH, we will protect the rights of all citizens and legal immigrants by enforcing our laws against illegal immigration, completing the border fence that was promised and which the American people have strongly supported, providing certificates of live birth rather than birth certificates to children born of non-citizen parents (in keeping with the clear parameters of the 14th Amendment), and to the greatest extent legally possible, we will refuse or restrict benefits to illegal residents;

You need to get better informed on the immigration issue. What do you intend to do with the 12 to 20 million lawbreakers already here? Do you support the current level of LEGAL IMMIGRATION, I.E., 1.2 million a year? How do you feel about birthright citizenship?

Would you be willing to sign the pledge below?

“I pledge to oppose amnesty or any other special path to citizenship for the millions of foreign nationals unlawfully present in the United States. As a member of Congress, I will support the full implementation of enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population. I also pledge to make security of our borders a top priority.”

You might add Term Limits for the federal house and senate. They were in the original contract with America, but they didn’t get passed the career politicians.

Good luck to you, but if you’re going to run you should familiarize yourself w/ a little history. You write:

“Tired of waiting for my Party to create a new Contract with America for today’s issues, I finally wrote it myself — just as Newt Gingrich did when he first ran for Congress.”

Newt had been in office a number of years before the first Contract was written. And he didn’t actually write it, he was responsible for using it, though, and is usually credited with leading the effort to promote it.

Accepted but I like the 10-4 pledge:

http://pledge.tenthamendmentcenter.com/

Next to that I care not what your foreign policy is.

1: I want the States to institute legal-tender gold and silver coin standards. (like the South Carolina bill proposed, except we should utilized State Bank-notes to represent the same in a more mobile form.)

2: I want the Federal reserve note to be the executive exchange currency for international trade but virtually unusable except in federal taxation domestically.

3: Each State will run its own (full-reserve) bank of such gold and silver coins and issue Representative banknotes in the finite supply of such coins, and/or engage in a credit card type system of exchange.

The Federal reserve note will be required for the paying of federal Taxes and foreign and interstate exchanges, but the exchange with that federal reserve note will be handled by the State Banks, on a FLOATING value based upon internal gold and silver coin supply.

In this way the United States Federal Government will be able to inflate the federal reserve note without harming the savings of Americans as the savings will be stored independently in terms of gold and silver coins.

Instead the inflation of the Federal reserve note will help to make American products appear more competitive over seas.

its an idea, which could be implemented at this point almost excursively with State level actions. The greater beauty of running the Federal Government on primarily Federal reserve notes which hold their primary value in reference to foreign markets helps keep the Federal Taxation based upon Foreign trade, as it was originally made. Meanwhile domestic State and local Taxation and economy’s will be run primarily on the much more solid Gold and silver Coin supply. Coins which the same States wont be able to debase, as they will be made by the Federal Government who correspondingly will not be able to acquire enough gold and silver significantly inflate their supply, due to only being able to Tax in Federal Reserve notes which only hold their value on the basis of foreign and inter-state trade.

On top of that even if they do start to debase the coins(removing gold and silver content.) States may refuses to accept them as full coins legal tender. Therefore there will be a competition among state government in terms of the wealth of such state in terms of how much gold and silver coins they hold.

Joseph, how about an immigration moratorium rather than a streamlining? We’re saturated, and moreover, the Statue of Liberty is very tired of being pimped in the service of cheap labor proponents, globalists, Communists and multiculturalists.

Your national security, win the war goal is too vague. I’d recommend locking down the borders. Provide jobs to Americans willing to patrol and keep the borders secure.

I’m OK with the helping legal immigrants, but you did not say what you propose to do with the millions of illegals already here?

They should be deported to the last man woman and child. Raise the stakes on re-entry to prison time.

There should be an 80% tax on all remittances outside the US by non-citizens.

And .. how about adding .. no more mandates to the states.

Each state has soveriegnty - and a federal mandate means the feds can vote for some program and then tell the states - you have to pay for this!

This must stop!

Wow! Sorry for the delay in replying, I’ve been incredibly busy as you can imagine. Feel free to email me directly at joe@tatner.com or visit www.tatner.com and click on the email button for a faster response!

YES, I would sign the pledge, consider it so signed.
YES, I would deport those who are here illegally.
YES, we should finish the border fence and use the border as a training ground for Recon Teams from all the military forces (we should not by definition “militarize” the border, however, the federal government has to DO ITS JOB).
YES, I support the Arizona law because I actually READ it (I know, that’s something people in Congress aren’t supposed to do...actualy read a bill...but then, I refuse to ever become a politician, even if elected).
YES, I actually have written legislation as part of the Contract with America 2010 and it states only children born to LEGAL citizens and permanent residents receive a birth certificate and ONLY a birth certificate is valid for schools, welfare, non-emergency healthcare, etc. (all others receive a certificate of live birth only).

If we eliminate the freebies, they will self deport. If they don’t, the federal government needs to confiscate all fake IDs from them and deport them. 12 million people (if you believe the official government estimate) here illegally means 12 million identities stolen from American citizens.
