John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, is seriously considering stepping down from the nation’s highest court for personal reasons, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Roberts, known for his conservative judicial philosophy, has served on the Supreme Court since 2005, having been nominated by President George W. Bush after the death of former Chief William Rehnquist.

RadarOnline.com has been told that Roberts, 55, could announce his decision at any time.

The decision paves the way for President Barack Obama to make his second appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court following his first, Sonia Sotomayor.

Threats against Roberts by the Dear Leader such as “remaining on the court could be injurious to your health.” ? Or threats against his family? Obama and the rest of the commies will stop at nothing.

I think that as a professional journalist, Drudge and his people should have verified this before posting it. Queer has nothing to do with it. This was inexcusable. Drudge should post an apology and an explanation to his readers.

Since the current court is generally thought to be 5 to 4, that one person now becomes very important to the point where outcomes are now liable to swing the other direction.

It isn't. It is 4 to 4, with one flipping coin in the middle. There are 4 fairly reliable conservative constructionist justices. There are 4 very reliable hard-left liberal activist justices who see the court as an instrument for implementing changes that cannot be won at the ballot box, and view the constitution as malleable. Then there is Kennedy, a "maverick" if you will, who sometimes sides with the leftist and sometimes sides with the Constitution. What he uses as his guidepost is ANYBODY'S guess.

Who is putting this garbage out?

I always wonder when you can’t find out who owns or promotes such a site.

Boy Fox is dragging the bottom of the barrel when they have breaking news from a place like this radar site.

This could be an attempt to intimidate the court.

For all those who said no difference between Left wing Obama and 82% American Conservative Union Rated McCain.

Why the fuss since some FReepers say Obama is the same as an 82% Conservative.

“Chief Justice Roberts Not Stepping Down Despite Report”

Isn`t that exactly what politicians and other high public officials always say just before they step down?

Hope it has nothing to do with The Kenyan’s re-taking of the oath of office.

"I voted for McCain, but I think the American public needed an awakening to see the true colors of the Democrats & Progressives."

Problem is, McCain (& Bush to a large extent) could be considered progressives as well. Last election boiled down to fast track progressivism [Barry(D)] and slower track progressivism [McAmnesty(R)]. Ironically, neither of them being Natural Born Citizens and therefore Constitutionally qualified to be POTUS.

You are right. Those freepers who claim that the people are sheeple and are manipulated by the media are themselves the most easily manipulated by the media. As I said before the IQ on this forum has gone way down.
